Surrey
I am a freelance Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist covering London, Surrey and Kent. My kit is made up of high end products including Charlotte Tilbury, Dior, Laura Mercier, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Nars and more. I trained at DFMA Makeup Academy and I have worked in the industry for the last 9 years, previously working for Mac Cosmetics, Chanel and Benefit Cosmetics. My skills also include; SFX Makeup and Body Painting. I am available for weddings, events, parties, photoshoots, TV and film, makeup lessons (1-1 and groups). Some of my clients include, Channel 4, Unilever, Royal Academy of Dance, Churchill Theatre, Surrey Council.
Everyday is different from the next! One day I could be working at a vintage wedding venue with a beautiful bride and the next I could be at Notting Hill, living it up with a carnival band creating totally different looks. My job is fun and exciting and I get to meet new people everyday, I love every minute of it!
I have always had a passion for makeup which inspired me to undertake the course at DFMA Makeup Academy. From there, working and training with the major makeup brands gave me the experience and knowledge needed for the industry, however my skills were limited thus capping my creativity. Which in turn inspired me to release my creative potential to infinite opportunities through starting my own business!
- A friendly and professional approach to my work.
- The ability to make my clients feel at ease and relaxed during application.
- I pride myself on pre productions i.e. good communications throughout and up to the job.
- Great versatility, under time constraints.
- I can tailor-make any look for whatever my client desires.
- I am completely customer orientated, and will travel to meet my customers at any venue, home or commercial.
Can I do my own wedding makeup?
Some brides choose to apply their own makeup for their wedding. However, many prefer to have their makeup professionally applied to ensure that it looks perfect for their big day. Having your makeup professionally applied for your wedding also gives you that bit of pampering on your wedding day, allowing you to relax whilst an expert makes you look great.
Should you do your hair or makeup first for your wedding?
Many brides wonder whether their hair or makeup should be done first on their wedding day. Ideally, you’ll have your hair styled first and your makeup applied afterwards. This is because the heat from the styling tools could cause your makeup to run. However, don’t worry if your schedule means that your makeup needs to be applied first. Hiring a professional wedding makeup artist and hairdresser will ensure that your hair and makeup both look perfect for your wedding, no matter which order they need to take place.
How long before your wedding should you have your makeup applied?
Ideally, you should have your makeup applied 1-2 hours before you need to set off for your wedding ceremony. You’ll ideally have your hair styled first, and then your makeup applied, leaving enough time to get changed into your dress before the ceremony. Most brides choose for their bridesmaids to have their hair and makeup done first, with the bride being last. This ensures that your hair and makeup last for as long as possible.
