Brilliant. In only 7 lessons the trainer's have helped me totally change the behaviour of my rescue beagle. He no longer pulls my arm out of its socket when he sees a cat or another dog. He now walks calmly at my side. He seldom jumps up at people we meet. The exceptions being those that encourage him to do so despite my protests not to do so. To name just a couple of the issues that needed resolving and have been. Currently working on getting him to sit patiently when I walk away, staying still until I return. Still was something I never thought he could do but he's getting there already as we work up to a full minute, it does seem an eternity during training. Can't thank the trainer's at Johnston K9 enough. Really fun sessions. Totally recommend them for all your training needs.

I am a qualified trainer and member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and am passionate about animals and their welfare and ensuring that your pets receive the very best care available. I was brought up with dogs from a very young age and have been a dog owner for over 30 years with extensive experience of dog training and agility competing, using force free positive reinforcement reward based techniques. I am DBS checked, fully insured and have taken pet first aid courses as your pets safety is paramount while in my care. I have a police spec vehicle for the safe transport of your precious pets locally or nationwide. I have passed diploma's in Canine Behaviour and Dog Training and am currently studying for a level 4 accredited Advanced Canine Behaviour award with the British School of Canine Science.
Animals - especially dogs, they are the most amazing companions and having the privilege of working with, walking or looking after clients animals is so rewarding and satisfying. I relish the challenge of helping owners who are struggling with their troublesome pooches and guiding them on the journey to a better behaved pet. I started as a dog walker and pet sitter and this is also as important to me now, treating all pets as I would want mine treated.
Having worked for over 30 years in logistics being made redundant was a blessing in disguise. I decided to use my experience working with and training dogs to help other pet owners, whether it's to improve their behaviour or help out by walking or sitting , it fulfils a lifelong ambition to work with animals.
I have studied hard and continue to do so to ensure I use the most up to date training methods that are scientifically proven and so that I have the knowledge of canine behaviour to help even the most difficult of cases, so whether it's just general puppy training or a more pressing behaviour issue I can help.
For my walking and pet sitting services, I understand how difficult it is to let someone else look after your precious pets, I have 4 Border Collie dogs and would never put them in kennels or let them be looked after by anyone. Therefore I want my clients to understand that I will look after their pets with the same care and attention I do my own. I offer a fully professional service for complete peace of mind.
I can offer remote services through Zoom or Skype but when dealing with behaviour issues I always prefer to see the dog in person so I can observe their body language and behaviour to assess the best course of training.
I follow all Covid-19 requirements, ensuring that I use good hygiene practices (hand washing, equipment washing, sanitization, use of PPE) and will carry out a risk assessment for all clients, working with them to ensure that we operate in a covid-secure manner.
