Training the Bark way

Dog trainers in Edinburgh

It can be hard to settle on a dog training class in Edinburgh. There’s a lot of choice out there, and it’s often difficult to work out which trainer is most suited to your dog. That’s where Bark can help, with detailed seller profiles and previous customer reviews. Based on your specific needs, training can yield brilliant results for your pup. You might want to enter a competition and need help getting started with your ring and agility training. Or, perhaps you have a cocker spaniel you’d like to train for the next time you’re out on a shoot. Whatever the case, we can help match you with an ideal trainer.

Qualified trainers

Whether independent or running a dog training school, we prioritise accredited, ethical trainers through Bark. Many of our Edinburgh trainers are qualified behaviourists who understand what makes our dogs tick. They offer world-class fun and educational training to their customers. If accreditations are important to you, be sure to review the seller profiles for these. The end result? Obedient, happy dogs that are a dream to have around.

A trainer that works around your lifestyle

With Bark, you’ll be able to seek out a trainer who’s flexible, trustworthy and can fit in with your schedule. For some, a private one-to-one session is more preferable to a group class, and for others the class environment works better. Whether you’re looking for a premium private session, or you want to take your dog to an affordable puppy class, our experienced dog trainers offer something for everyone.

Do you specialise in any particular form of training?

Having grown up in the countryside, I’ve got a lot of experience with working dogs. As such, I’m happy to offer gun dog training, as well as standard obedience training. I have also offered agility training to competition breeders in Edinburgh to consistently broaden my skillset.

Are there any breeds you won’t work with?

Every breed comes with their own challenges and I’m willing to take them all on. As long as your dog’s breed is not prescribed on the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, I’m more than happy to work with them. Anti-social and rescue dogs often require special care and attention. These dogs can display signs of aggression including barking, growling or even biting. I’m happy to work with dogs with these traits, as long as you give some forewarning.

What do your customers look for most frequently?

Most often, my customers are looking for puppy training services. Puppies can be a handful, and owners usually need a hand with toilet training or stopping their new dogs from jumping up, begging and whining. I also offer puppy classes, where I teach groups the basic commands: sit, stay, lie down, roll over, heel. As part of this, I encourage owners to become comfortable walking their puppies on a lead, without them pulling.
