Built in 1492, The Walnut Tree is a former Kentish Yeoman’s house, starting it’s life as a beer house in the nineteenth century. We are a traditional country pub, with exposed beams and open fires. We serve a wide variety of top class beers and ales, along with a wholesome lunch and dinner food offering, including the traditional roast every Sunday.

Please do not order takeaway from the walnut tree. The website does not highlight that in fact, your food does not come from the Walnut Tree at all, but instead is cooked and sent out by the Chequers in Aylesford. This came as a complete surprise when we phoned to chase up our delivery after it still hadn't arrived nearly 2 hours later. On phoning, we were first told it was 'on its way' and on the second call were met with 'you do know its coming from Ayelsford'. Well no, we had no idea, not that this justifies over a 2 hour wait only to receive stone cold, flavourless food. Customers should be made aware that this is the case on ordering. We didnt order a takeaway from the Walnut Tree to have it cooked somewhere else....not local. Just being made aware of this before ordering would avoid a lot of frustration and disappointment for everyone involved. More...

We held our wedding reception here yesterday. Ali the manager has been fantastic throughout all the planning and decorated the marquee and garden for us. We had a BBQ outside, the food was amazing and well presented. The bar staff were super efficient and worked tirelessly, adhering to covid rules, wearing masks in extreme hot weather. Excellent effort thank you all. Very highly recommended, Natalie More...

We went to the walnut tree today the food was great they even catered for my fussy taste. Nothing was too much trouble the staff were friendly and efficient. We are still not allowed to sit indoors due to government restrictions. The walnut tree has made its outside seating as warm and inviting as possible both my husband and myself were warm enough even through a heavy downpour. Well done all together a fabulous meal. We have enjoyed several delicious takeaway meals from The Walnut Tree. The food is delicious and generous portions. My particular favourite is pie and chips with gravy. Lots of choice on the menu, the meals are carefully packaged, and the delivery people are lovely. Highly recommend. More...
