My introduction to the Jounetsu creator was visiting the house of a friend who had just had a loft completed by Haru.
I was struck by the clean lines, the use of glass to let in light and the quality of the materials used in the loft and the elegance and efficiency of the designed lay out. On my first meeting with Haru, I was struck by his calmness, thoughtfulness and professionalism. He clearly explained how he worked and the standard to which he worked. He listened to my wishes and my ideas, one of these seemed outlandish but it was one I was keen to keep and that was having a “moveable” wall between 2 rooms in the loft , offering 2 independent bedrooms which could in a few minutes be turned into a large room when needed. Haru investigated all the possibilities and chose an amazing solution. The result is a space that is brimming with light, and flows with the rest of the house, an amazing floor to ceiling height, and a feel of being part of the originally house. Through his diligent work, he has realised and delivered to me and my family a transformed loft space, offering 2 well-proportioned bedrooms, and a supremely functional shower toilet room. The use of clever design has transformed the loft into whole new floor that complements the rest of the house and suits how we want to live. Several friends have asked to be put into contact with Haru after viewing his work and would not hesitate in recommending him, I will definitely use him again. More...

Haru designed and project managed a new roof garden and room for us, essentially putting an extra floor on our house. He was invaluable to the design-without Haru we would likely have ended up with an extension, but it wouldn't look anywhere near as good as it does. The project managing was immensely helpful, allowing for other, more attractive solutions to problems that builders inevitably come across.

This was the second time we have worked with Haru, having previously had our car port transformed into a utility room and we would absolutely use him again and recommend him to others.

Deciding to use Haru rather than a building company with in-house architect was the best project decision we made. Haru put care and attention into every part of the project. His professionalism and dedication in what was a challenging renovation of an old property with many hidden problems is something that we will always be grateful for. We cannot recommend him strongly enough and will use his services for any building work we do in the future. More...

Haru designed a stunning space; much thought went into every detail and after more than a year it is still a pleasure to be in our new kitchen! This is a very personal service and means that there were many design meetings as the project progressed, and many decisions, but it was all worth it. It was also great to have him manage the builders and project on site, which was on time and within the budget. The amount of time and thought that Haru put into this project would have been very hard to match, and in the end resulted in excellent value for money. Haru was also able to source cost-effective items/solutions, and incorporated valuable cost savings that really made a difference. Highly recommended! More...

Haru designed and managed the upgrade of my terraced house including the addition of a kitchen extension, top floor shower room, redesigned first floor bathroom and study and a downstairs toilet. The planning application went through smoothly and Haru managed the build efficiently with weekly updates and regular consultations. He kept in touch afterwards to make sure that everything worked. The resulting layout has surpassed my expectations. The kitchen is a triumph with plenty of storage and a wonderful a sense of space. Outside the steep garden has been used to advantage with seating built into the slope. The first floor back addition finally makes sense with a comfortable bathroom and a bonus room which could be a small bedroom or a study. On the design side Haru advised on lighting and fittings to create a sense of calm, coherence and style. Existing bedroom storage was upgraded at minimal cost and cleverly sourced radiators lift all the rooms. Externally dark wood is used to frame the kitchen door and combine with dark grey window frames to push back the concrete lintels from a previous rebuild. The house is now the best version of itself that it could possibly be. Maxine Sacks More...
