How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
1. Size
The minimum size required for a single-car garage conversion is around 12 feet by 20 feet, while a two-car garage should be at least 20 feet by 20 feet.
2. Ceiling height
The ceiling should be at least 8 feet in height to ensure there is enough headroom.
3. Structural integrity

Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
Converting a garage typically involves several stages. Here is a general overview of each stage involved:
1. Planning & Design
Involves deciding on layout and function of the space being converted. At this point we recommend a discussion with an architect or a contractor to create a design that meets your needs and budget.
2. Obtaining Planning permission (If needed)
Checking with your local council as to whether or not you need planning permission for the work you wish to carry out. This part involves submitting plans, paying fees, and undergoing inspections.
3. Construction
This stage involves removing the existing fixtures, walls and structures that are no longer needed and then installing the new walls, floors, lighting, electrics, plumbing and heating, fixtures and fittings.
4. Final Inspection
Once work has been completed a final inspection is required to be carried out by the building control to check all safety & building measures and requirements have been met.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?

Loft should have a minimum headroom clearance of 2.2 meters (7 feet 2 inches) through out at least half of the floor space and no less than 1.9 meters at the edges.
2. Roof structure

3.Floor area
Should have enough floor area to be converted into a usable living space. Minimum size required for a loft conversion is around 5.5 meters by 7.5 meters.
4. Staircase
There should be enough space for a staircase leading up to the loft. This may require reconfiguring the existing layout of the home.
Same with any big home renovation project, you will need to check with your local council to check on planning permissions, building regulations and requirements.
