When I trained as a florist i knew immediately I wanted to work within the wedding flower industry, deciding it was sensible to gain as much experience as possible, whilst perfecting my style.

Suzy did the beautiful flowers for our wedding in August at The Barn at Alswick in Buntingford and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough! After contacting Suzy via her website we had an initial chat on the phone to talk about my ideas. Suzy was so lovely, enthusiastic, knowledgeable. I came off the phone call buzzing with excitement. I knew I was in safe hands. She sent me various quotes with different options depending on how much I wanted to spend on each item (buttonholes/bouquets/table displays etc) so I could tailor to my budget. Her professionalism and guidance was fantastic. When I saw my flowers on the morning of the wedding I had tears of joy! They looked absolutely beautiful and EXACTLY how we had discussed. What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about being a florist is that I get to meet lovely engaged couples planning the most exciting event of their lives. I also love and feel honoured to make funeral tribute flowers for life celebrations.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started my business back in 2003 when I had small children, I was initially looking for work which could fit in with my young family - and with an art college background, I had always been interested in designing and creating art. Studying floristry was a revelation as I realised I had found my calling. My job is varied and interesting and I love to learn new techniques, so I enrolled recently to do the Level 4 Higher Diploma, which has extended my knowledge with a particular interest in eco-floristry techniques.
Why should our clients choose you?
I aim to give the best customer service to my clients. With wedding (and funeral) floristry it is very important to give couples my time and attention, building a good rapport and fully understanding what their preferences are. I like to meet up with couples at least a couple of times as well as staying in touch via Zoom or online platforms. I aim to be as eco-friendly as possible and use current techniques within the industry to reduce our carbon footprint.

I am happy to have Skype or Zoom calls in the initial consultation, I find this fits in really well with couples busy schedules.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We undertook an online course in 2021 and this covered all our Covid safe practices, a detailed form can be sent to our clients if they would like to view this.
