Q&As

I passionately believe in helping people realise their full potential and achieve their goals whatever stage they are at in their lives. This job enables me to do that.

It is something that I have always wanted to do as I believe that the best way to help people is to listen to their ideas and concerns and suggesting possible options for the way forward.

Alistair Stirling, owner of Stirling Careers Consultancy, is a qualified and experienced careers advisor with a qualification in careers guidance (QCG) and an MA in Career Guidance from Canterbury Christchurch University offering impartial and independent careers advice. He is also a qualified lecturer.

Stirling Careers Consultancy will work with you to design a package of careers support to suit your needs. He is trained and accredited to deliver the Morrisby Profile; a series of psychometric assessments to aid career choice.

Here is some feedback from some of the many people that I have worked with recently.

“Alistair was really good at helping me to clarify my action plan and helping me to take small steps towards employment”

“Patient and attentive to different needs.”

“Thank you very much for all your help and advice.”

“I highly recommend Alistair as a careers adviser. He is knowledgeable, approachable and focussed on helping you achieve careers success.”

“I am extremely grateful for the additional time you spent going through the interview preparation and mock interview with me today. I will continue to practice my interview skills with the advice contained in the information pack. “

We will support you in finding the right career for you and identifying the right career path for you.

We help adults with their job search, curriculum vitaes (CVs) and preparation for job interviews and supporting you with your job offer.

Alistair Stirling is a qualified and registered careers professional with over 10 years’ experience in helping adults make informed choices about their future career paths.

We help clients who are considering a career change.
This maybe because they are unable to progress in their current role, the sector maybe struggling or they may want to challenge themselves by putting their skills, qualifications and training to use in a different setting.

We help women who have had a career break to prepare and return to the labour market. We help with considering a new career, job search, CVs, interview preparation and on boarding into a new organisation.

We help university students to plan their careers before and after graduating. Also supporting students on making the transition from student life to the world of work.

We work with both organisations and individuals who are unfortunately being made redundant and we have a number of redundancy and outplacement packages to suit individuals and organisations.

On being made redundant you may want to get straight back into a similar role, alternatively you may want to change career or it can be an ideal opportunity to consider your options before moving forward.
