I've used this company a few times as a DIY glazier. I have always had the relevant advice over legal requirements etc something most of us are unaware of. Don't worry if you are an amateur like me .The gaffer there simply won't let you spend more than you need to, and will advise you to get the cheaper option if possible. The helpfulness even extended to helping load the car - all in "slow time". I advise to get there at least an hour before closing, the cutting process is the most skilled part of glazing after all! I used Shard End Glass once in the past (years ago) and they quickly cut me a nice rectangular piece of glass.
Today, however, I phoned in and they sounded very positive about being able to cut me a round mirror.
I drove in and my experience was not great. I waited a while before being seen (not so much of a problem) but when I got seen I showed the mirror that needed fixing with the round piece and the man was abrupt and I would say rude.
"You're better off going to a place in town" though he did give me instructions.
He also said, "you can leave it with us if you like but it'll take 3 weeks, and the glass will be 3 times as thick as what you have there. You should go into town".
I explained that I did phone up earlier and he said, "we're just too busy"
A very disappointing customer experience if I'm honest.
