I had my bathroom renovated by Kevin and his team. I am very pleased with the finished job. Everything was left clean and tidy, Kevin checked the work from start to finish making sure I was happy with the way things were going.
In 2019 they also did my garden for me with new composite decking and Astro turf. My garden is now low maintenance and everybody comments on how lovely it looks.

How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
There are various routes you can take when it comes to designing and installing your garage conversion. The right choice for you will depend on the scale and complexity of your project, as well as your budget.
Here at Sensibuild we have an architect and professional designers. This is a great route for a reasonably sized garage conversion, where there are perhaps multiple planning stipulations to be followed as can be the case in designated areas such as Conservation Areas and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or where Listed Building Consent is required.
An architect can also be useful where you need assistance with the design, or when the roof is being replaced. A good architect or designer, with experience of your type of project is where you'd want to start.
That's where we come in.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
We'd meet with you and go through your options, we'd assess the current garage and other areas of your property, checking for the adequacy and any potential complications.
We'd usually be able to discuss the planning permission options with you too. However, if not then our architect would walk you through this.
We'd then put you in contact with our Architect who would provide a fee proposal for organising the necessary planning application and drawing up the conversion.
The Architect would then submit the drawings and conversion information to the local planning authority. He would then also discuss the Building Control Application (if applicable).
In some cases (dependant on various factors) planning permission is not required, and sometimes the conversion can be completed under lawful/permitted development.
Once the planning application has been authorised, the council will follow their application process (usually a few months but changes between councils and times of year).
We will be there to hold your hand through the whole process, and likewise our architect will help to oversee the application process.
In the meantime we'd be able to provide a price to build the garage conversion based on the planning drawings produced by the architect.
The architect would then produce full building plans (the planning drawings but with building information and specifications - How it's to be built and what materials to be used etc)
Once the application has been approved by the planning department and building control (if applicable) and the build price is agreed we are then ready for the construction phase.
The construction phase varies in timescale depending on the scope of work and complexity of what is involved.
Sensibuild will call building control in for inspections on your behalf to make sure that it is being built to specification and current building regulations.
Once the build phase is complete, we hand over the project back to our client. You are then able to call building control for the final inspection and subsequently be given a sign off building control certificate. Keep this with your house paperwork so that you can prove to future buyers that the work has been carried out professionally, and to the correct standards.
