After an structural engineers report I found I needed underpinning and support added to one side of the house. After some time I decided to hire rg developments because they sounded the most knowledgeable out the five people I seen to get quotes from. I had my roof restructured and the covering replaced. I can tell the RG team care about what they do. When a problem is uncovered they quickly address it with a few options and recommendations to go forward. I felt nervous about the works but the guys had a way of calming me and to trust the process. How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
It must be structurelly sound, built out of brick, block or concrete panels. The walls, floor and roof must be insulated or it will need adding. All electrics will need updating and safety testing. The building must be water tight with good ventilation.
Have been fire-proofed and have escape routes.
A garage would fall under existing element in existing building therefor the walls must meet the heat loss requirements of the newest regulations to achieve a U-value of 0.30 or lower in walls and 0.16 in the roof.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
Foundations and structural integrity needs checking foremost.
Floor will need upgrading to achieve new U-Value.
The roof will need to be water tight and insulated.
Walls need to be assesed upon their structural integrity. Walls need insulating if necessary to achieve new U-value.
Doors, windows and skylights (if required) added.
A converted garage will often have its own electrical consumer unit with its own ring and trip switches for fire safety.
Customers will often stud, board and skim the garage and render to finish.

Roofing
We provide all aspects of tiling, slating and flat roofing. We are equipt to build timber roof frames from start to finish complete with roof covering. All lead, mortar and PVC work covered. Scaffolding supplied in house for reduced rates.
Extensions
We can accommodate structural and extension builds from start to finish; foundations and drains to wallings and roof.
