About

Puppy School is a six week course of puppy training classes, each weekly class lasting one hour. The comprehensive programme has been carefully designed to take you and your puppy through all the basic life skills, giving you the very best foundation for life with a new puppy.

​The puppy training exercises gradually progress from easy to more complex, not only building on your puppy's understanding and reliability each week but also improving your handling and teaching skills.

​We encourage the whole family to come along to classes where you will learn:
- Positions: sit, lie down and stand
- Come when called
- Loose lead walking
- Stay
- 'Settle'
- 'Gentle' (taking food from hands gently)
- Greeting people politely, without jumping

Classes will also prepare your puppy for close handling (vets and groomers), prevent play biting and teach your puppy how to behave around food, bones or chews. During the classes your puppy will gain valuable socialising experience with a wide variety of people, children and other puppies. Puppies will be allowed to play in carefully controlled small groups to ensure they learn good manners around other puppies, do not get scared, and do not learn to play roughly or aggressively. Puppies will be matched for size, age, and experience, and play will be carefully supervised to ensure that all puppies learn to be confident with others.

​Puppy School is a nationwide training group works in association with Natures Menu, promoting a healthy diet for your new puppy. ​After booking your 6 week course, you and your puppy will receive a Natures Menu Puppy Welcome Box which includes:
​• 1 x Puppy School Manual - this will tell you what to expect from our classes as well as give extra information on training and what to practise after each class.
• 1 x 1.5kg True Instinct Puppy food (free range chicken)

Training classes are open to puppies up to 20 weeks of age and are held at Shutford Village Hall, Banbury Hill, Shutford, OX15 6PE The cost of a six week course is £65
​After completing the course, each puppy will receive a Certificate and Rosette
