Chris provided a professional, friendly and reliable service when we had our kitchen extension. He coordinated aspects of the job that we didn’t even know needed doing, let alone coordinating. When our builder let us down halfway through the job (nothing to do with P2E), Chris went above and beyond to offer support. We are really appreciative of everything Chris did for us, and now we have a beautifully extended kitchen. We recommend Plans2Extend without any hesitation. More...

How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Any garage or outbuilding is suitable for converting, as long as its a sound structure. We may need to source planning approval if your permitted development allowances have been withdrawn
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
Following confirming your permitted development rights are in place, or once planning approval is obtained - we would obtain Building Regulations approval via full working drawings which your chosen builder (or us) will use to convert your garage
The first step is removing your garage door & putting the foundations in place for the half wall and window - once this has been completed your floors/walls & ceilings framework will be created & insulated - once the first fix plumbing and electrics have been completed (piping and wiring), we would then plasterboard & skim the converted garage & complete the 2nd fix electrics and plumbing (hanging radiators, putting faceplates & lights in place) ready for the final skirting boards, doors & floor finishes to be installed - all finished off with a lick of paint
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Suitable head heights are required with loft conversions - around 2.1 metres will be needed once the new floors and insulation to the roof slopes are installed - but dont dispair, if you do not have the head room, first floor ceilings can be lowered to achieve the required head heights
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
Following confirming your permitted development rights are in place, or once planning approval is obtained - we would obtain Building Regulations approval via full working drawings which your chosen builder (or us) will use to convert your loft space - new & stronger floors are installed in accordance with structural engineers reports & once this aspect has been completed the walls & ceilings framework will be created & insulated to comply with Building Regulations - once the first fix plumbing and electrics have been completed (piping and wiring), we would then plasterboard & skim the converted loft space & complete the 2nd fix electrics and plumbing (hanging radiators, installing new bathroom suites & putting faceplates & lights in place) ready for the final skirting boards, doors & floor finishes to be installed - all finished off with a lick of paint
What do you love most about your job?
There is no better feeling than adding valuable knowledge to our clients initial vision, and bringing this to life through the design stages. Once we have hit the dream draft, the militant team at Plans 2 Extend secure the planning approvals. My personal favourite part of the process is following the planning approval stages where we work closely with our structural engineering team & produce working drawings ready for your Builders to make your dream home a reality! We can also take care of the construction phase & be your perfect builders! A one stop shop, Whats not to love!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Before Plans 2 Extend - The founder was a project manager for a building company, he was forever complaining about the quality of the drawings supplied to him. We make your builders lives easier by providing comprehensive bespoke working drawings, which in turn provides our clients with a stress free Build Phase
Why should our clients choose you?
Plans 2 Extend was founded through sheer passion for design & build. The team @ Plans 2 Extend are dedicated to providing our clients with an enjoyable journey through our design & planning processes - we are fully committed to building an honest relationship with our clients. We pride ourselves on excellent communication and are a company that you can rely on! A helping hand from start to finish!
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
No, we insist in providing our own measured surveys & will not rely on the quality of other similar service providers (i.e. tracing over current drawings)
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Weekly testing, daily if anybody feels unwell - we practise safe distancing and request that all internal doors and windows are left open during the survey to minimise the need to touch surfaces
