What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The single most important thing is light. Without a consideration the crafting of light and shadows, you wouldn't have an image to show for in the first place! A black screen is pretty hard to decipher.
What do you love most about your job?
I have a massive personal emphasis on capturing every moment as you're never going to be this age, at this time, and on this exact date and year ever again. Pictures are incredibly imperative in capturing a moment and being able to reflect on the memories of that date again. I'd hope when I'm no longer taking pictures, that my clients will have special images of them and their loved ones to treasure. I love being able to be part of that memory creating process for people.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been interested in Photography and art. I was inspired by a childhood friend's mum who is a photographer when she took some pictures for my family when I was 10. My first camera was a little pink compact camera and ever since, I have continuously upgraded my kit and skills, now with a Bachelor degree with Honours in Photography. I have always valued the act of treasuring each and every moment so here I am, many moons later!
