Just arrived home after spending 2 perfect days here over Christmas. My husband has a guide dog and all staff were so helpful and accommodating to his every need. Everything was so lovely, clean and breakfast yummy. Unfortunately the lifts broke down on Christmas Day , it was a long way up the stairs to the 4th floor BUT you were on hand to help and got them fixed really quickly. Can’t wait to visit you again. Thank you for making our Christmas stay a fantastic one ❤️ More...

Me and my boyfriend stayed for 1 night on the Groupon offer. Due to a crash on the motorway, we were running late and arrived at the restaurant at 9pm where we were greeted by Molly and Kevin. From the start, they were so helpful and their customer service was beyond amazing! The hotel was spotlessly clean and we had a lovely meal in Marco pierre white. We used the gym the next morning, and again, it was spotlessly clean and enough there to get a good workout. Upon departure, we had a little problem with our bill which was sorted by Holly and the supervisor on shift at the time, who were also extremely helpful. Highly recommend this hotel. Will definitely be returning More...

This place is my new fave. It is totally gorgeous. Reception welcoming. Our room was fab fab fab. We had this walk in shower in the most modern bathroom and it was amazing Bed was huge! ! Had food in the on site restaurant and it was amazing. Sam behind the bar made us any cocktail we wanted and these were quality ones not crap you get in your local spoons. Beth working front of house went above and beyond to make sure we were ok and was so lovely. Breakfast the next day was one of the best I've ever had. I'm going to hope my hubby takes the hint and takes us back here every month just to have some quality time to ourselves without the kids. I love this place. Gorgeous hotel More...

With apologies to Bridgwater for suggesting that our expectation levels were not that high, this was a surprisingly good experience. ||Anticipating the inevitable holiday queues on the M5 we decided to break our journey by having an overnight stay: Bridgwater was around halfway on our trip and Mercure was a trusted name and just a few minutes off the motorway.||The hotel is fairly new, well designed and well appointed – boxes were duly ticked.||The hotel’s good motorway links has the (possible) downside that the Mercure is sufficiently far away from other signs of life - i.e. eateries – to deter you from “heading into town”, so we opted for the hotel’s offering: A restaurant branded by Marco Pierre White.||Call me a cynic, but I am generally averse to restaurant brands carrying the names of celebrity chefs: Prices are normally pushed upwards to cover the cost of the celebrity endorsement, while a chat to the staff generally reveals that while there are brand standards to be adhered to there is little micro-management – so they can promise much but delivery can be inconsistent. ||The restaurant was busy and our waitress admitted that this was the first night of the restaurant’s “new menu” – a combination that would put the MPW brand to the test …and it came through with flying colours – service was good, food was excellent and we left sated and contented. Happy days! More...

This is a great hotel. Stayed for one Friday night. Room was really nice and clean. Although fairly small the room was comfortable and the bed was large. Great temperature which you can control to your liking. ||Only down side was the flashing light on the ceiling from possibly smoke alarm. Why all hotels have to have lights on these devices is beyond me. Still head under the pillow and you’ll be fine. ||Would stay here again More...

Booked the Bridgwater carnival package for a group of five. From initial enquiry Emma, Events Manager, was amazing. She maintained regular contact to ensure all my requests were fulfilled prior to arrival and came to reception to meet our group. Whilst Carnival night is chaotic the staff coped brilliantly. We had a superb afternoon tea that had a generous collection of sandwiches and delicious cake. The dinner menu on second night was varied and we all had fillet steaks that were cooked to perfection, well done chef. Praise for the hot, freshly cooked buffet breakfast that offered real variety. The coffee was extra strong filter. We were impressed with the friendly staff from Molly at reception to John on the bar. The car park was an issue with guests parking in our spots that we had reserved and paid for but the hotel made great efforts to find the car owners and made refunds on our parking fees. An excellent weekend, We'll be back soon. More...

Never having been to the famous Bridgwater Carnival this was a first. A friend had booked the Carnival Package which was perfect for us. Organised perfectly by Events Co-ordinator Emma to the warm welcome from Mollie we relaxed immediately. A relax in the good bar was followed with afternoon tea (included in the package) which was lovely. Again the staff were attentive without imposing. On our second night we had a 3 course meal again included (the choice was brilliant) and chose steak. This was just absolutely wonderful. The main chicken dish was also enjoyed (on both evenings). All this was complemented by staff, Sam and Christina who looked after us so well and we felt so 'at home'. The well stocked and fresh breakfast completed a perfect stay! Would happily do this all again and can thoroughly recommend this very comfortable Mercure More...

A modern hotel which is full of natural light. We stayed for one night and we were impressed by the decor and facilities. The breakfast was buffet style which was served hot and fresh . The only let down is the very expensive car park charges. We parked off site because we were not willing to pay these over inflated prices just to park our car. Otherwise, a great hotel. More...

4 couples stayed overnight here on a secret Escapes deal. We had superior rooms which were a good size, lovely and clean, large showers and air con. Parking had several bays reserved for secret Escapes customers and paid for upon production of registration number. ||The hotel bar was a good size with plenty of sofas, arm chairs and tables which weren't too close together and the drinks and wine were reasonably priced. Our evening table was reserved for us along with a special secret Escapes menu with 3 courses and about 5 or more choices in each course. The kitchen was open plan and enjoyable to watch each team member preparing our food, with all the different choices brought to table at the same time and we all thought our food was first class. The staff were friendly and could not do enough to make sure we had everything we wanted. This service continued at breakfast with a good selection of hot and cold choices.||Check in/out was quick and efficient and we all enjoyed our stay and thought the staff ( especially restaurant ) excellent. Went with my daughter to a family function in Bridgwater and nearest hotel was the Mercure. As I had stayed I this group before had no problem in booking this hotel. When we arrived by train, we were pleased to find that the hotel was a five minute walk from the station. On arrival the receptionist told us that there had been a mix up with our booking on their part, but it was rapidly sorted and instead of a twin room we were given two double rooms.|The rooms were excellent, well appointed and a very comfortable bed. I had room service breakfast the first night ( extra £5) and went to the restaurant for breakfast the second night. Both breakfasts were excellent and good value.|The only drawback for me was that as with all new hotels, there is no access to fresh air in the bedrooms. The only movement is through an air conditioning unit. A minor point in an overall enjoyable stay. More...
