MCE Garden Design worked-up the design to my brief and budget. Sourced and supervised the hard landscaping contractor and will supply the plants and advise on planting.
Excellent service at all stages of the project. Clear and concise explanation of what will happen and when. Re-landscaped garden is exactly as I envisaged and looks great- can’t wait for the planting to be completed.
Very professional and friendly service that I have no hesitation in recommending.

We have been really impressed with Marie-Claire throughout our whole garden design process
We moved into our new house early in 2020.
I’d always dreamt of having a beautiful garden and becoming a gardener but I had know idea where to even begin. Someone had recommended Marie-Claire to us so I thought I’d contact her to see (fully expecting having our garden designed by someone to be way out of our budget - amazingly it wasn’t!)
She was very friendly from the beginning and also open about what she could do within our budget.
The brief started as a redesign but unfortunately had to be changed early on thanks to COVID and needing to be more careful with our money.
Marie-Claire was very flexible and accommodating to the change in brief and even came up with the fantastic idea of doing a an ‘interim’ garden, where she used the garden as it was and just pulled together a planting plan which worked with what we had to make it look the best it could without spending lots of money
She went through lots of different plant options with me and spent time to try and understand exactly what I wanted/ liked
She sourced all the plants for us and even gave me some really good gardening tips along the way, which I really appreciated. Best of all her planting plan came with a full maintenance plan so I know what to do each month for each plant
The garden looked beautiful all through late spring, summer, Autumn and even early winter.
I cannot wait to finish the process off with Marie-Claire, the plans are all ready...now I’ve just got to be patient!
I would highly recommend MCE Garden Design to anyone who is even thinking of having something done to their garden. Maire-Claire has been a pleasure to work with and is a very talented lady!

What do you love most about your job?
Working in the natural environment with plants and gardens. I love to create happy outdoor spaces for people. Somewhere to spend quality time, either alone with your thoughts or laughing and relaxing with family and friends.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Turning my public sector horticultural and managerial knowledge and experience into my own destiny is very exciting. I can marry design, love of plants and gardening with a relevant background to create a satisfying and rewarding business.

I am able to provide an initial online service if the client is able to provide good quality up to date photos of the garden/ balcony/container. iPhone images are fine.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
When I visit a site I do not spend time in the property therefore I am able to socially distance without it impacting what I do. I wear a face mask at all times and request those that I engage with to do the same. The design work is carried out in my office at my home.
