About

I have experience of coaching people at all stages of their careers, and can offer advice both from a hiring and jobseeker perspective. I have successfully mentored people changing careers, from fresh graduates to senior executives. I have been coaching people exclusively through referrals so far, but have just set up a profile on Bark in order to offer this service to people outside of my personal networks.

I enlisted Linda to help me create a PP presentation for a work project. She spent a lot of time to ensure she had the brief right and was also extremely collaborative, providing useful ideas about how to best showcase the content for impact to the viewers. Quality of work was very high and speed of work was also very good. Would use Linda again if I have the opportunity More...

Linda helped me to listen, trust and bring my authentic self to work. Back in 2012, I was in my final year at university and struggling to believe I would make it in the corporate world. I'm from the wrong social class, race, religion...the list goes in.
I was lucky enough to be paired with Linda as my first ever mentor. Unlike many other mentors and coaches I have had since then, Linda was the only person that reminded me of what I bring to the table despite my visible differences.
She coached me to be myself, to be loud and bold and unapologetic and if a potential employer doesn't respect this - that's their problem not mine. The impact Linda had on kickstarting my career was and still is invaluable.

I had a short period of career coaching from Linda a couple of years ago, when wanting to take a sideways career shift. Linda's a great listener and is warm and open. She helped me to feel safe to fully explore what it was that I wanted and how best to get there. She enabled me to hone down to what it was that I wanted and to find and trust in that which was already there, the confidence to take the leap. I'm now working in the role I'd hoped to be in, doing exactly what I want to be doing! More...

Linda was great in helping me rethink my work experience in a different way, which allowed me to identify my key transferable skills for that transition from public policy into private sector, in a very seamless way.

Midlife I decided to change profession completely. I retrained for many years and was finally going to start looking for work. I realized that my CV was not at all up to date nor suitable for my new profession, and my confidence in writing a personal letter was low. I did not know where to start even. Linda then worked with me and helped me see how my past could actually be an asset in my new profession. She also coxed out my skills, attributes and interest that could attract a future employer. Linda helped me move from a place of bewilderment and frustration and lack of hope to one where I was proud of my CV, my past, my unique experiences and had a true sense that I had something to offer despite my age and lack of experience. The results were beyond what I could have dreamt of: I was offered interviews at the most sought after workplaces within the field, and ended up being able to choose exactly where I wanted to work. Linda was by my side all the time, coaching me through the communications and interviews. This was one of the most valuable and important steps in my career and I am forever grateful to Linda for this. More...

Linda has helped me formulate my qualifications and working life in a way that attracts employers and given me the ticket to interviews.

19 October 2023

I first used Linda's CV writing services on a whim in 2015. I'd recently been made redundant, was feeling low and needed someone with the right experience to drag me out of a rut, so I gave her a punt. I've honestly never made a better decision. She combined level-headed analysis, knowledge of what employers are looking for, and an uncanny ability to draw out of me the key achievements that I should highlight and how to describe them succinctly. This got me a great new job at a higher salary, which I kept for three years before successfully applying elsewhere with another CV she helped me update. Because that's the thing: Linda keeps her eye on CV trends, meaning you never go stale. If you want to get your foot in the door and help along the way, take it from a repeat customer that she's your go-to guru. More...

I've used Linda's services twice in the past. Both times her help, encouragement and cheerleading got me the job. She understands what hiring managers are looking for and their thought processes, and has experience in recruitment. This means that Linda can conjure up CVs that truly elevate your strongest attributes and experience.

If I were to single out a specific thing that really made a difference for me, it would be her ability to zero in on the perfect words to convey exactly what it is you want to say about yourself, which will resonate with employers and pitch you at the right level.

Our sessions were warm, empathetic and effective. After working with Linda, I immediately felt that I had a lot to offer any employer, and that I could tell my career story compellingly.

Q&As

I love helping people find their purpose, and meaningful work that makes the most of their gifts whilst also aligning with their values. I get a real kick out of seeing clients’ confidence grow as a result of this.

Early on in my career, I worked in a boutique career consultancy and in executive search. This meant that I got a unique insight into the biggest levers for transforming how you sell yourself on paper and in person, and an unrivalled understanding of what hiring managers are looking for. Later on, when I was hiring my own teams, I then applied these tactics in interviews. Helping clients to demystify the application process is my way of giving back, as I think the world would be better if everyone loved their jobs!

You should work with me if you want:
- help identifying where your strengths lie
- to boost your confidence (in applying for jobs and in interviews)
- enthusiasm and creative ideas to motivate your job search
- to understand the hiring manager's perspective
- a cheerleader to give you tangible tactics you can use again and again

Yes - I only work with clients remotely/online. Be warned, there is homework for you to do in between sessions to make sure that we make timely progress. This work typically takes place on Google Docs, to make sure that we both have real-time access to the relevant documents.
