I can highly recommend both James and lifestyle kitchens. James experience, professionalism and patience shone through a very trying year. Detailed and prompt communication through lockdown. James listened to all of my likes & dislikes and designed the perfect kitchen. Offered sound advice when it was sought and no change was every too much which is testimony to both his patience & experience. The end result was a beautiful kitchen designed around my needs without any salesmanship of overengineered or gimmicky additions. Both the fitter and the everyone else who sees my kitchen does not fail to comment either on the quality or the design, on a tight budget. essentially I have a kitchen that will look a million dollars once the floor and work top have been added for a shoestring of a budget. I found James, Lifestyle kitchens on line and contacted him to provide a quote to replace my kitchen doors and cornice, pelmets and plynths. He was very helpful and offered good advice and supplied numerous samples to help me decide which door to go for. I decided on marpatt light oak shaker style door which look amazing. We contacted James after receiving a very disappointing proposal and quote from a national chain, we are so glad we did. From our initial contact in early October 2019 to completion last week he has guided us through the process suggesting different ideas for our consideration. At no time did we feel under any sales pressure. We have lost count on the number of visits he made to make sure we were completely satisfied with the final solution. We would without hesitation recommend him.

James did a fantastic job designing my kitchen! He was very patient and understanding, even though I took a while to make up my mind, and then changed it on several occasions. He always gave me plenty of options to choose from, to ensure I get a kitchen that is perfectly tailored to my needs and taste. The kitchen looks beautiful, and is a great value for money.
Would not hesitate to recommend Lifestyle Kitchens, and if I ever have a need for a new kitchen, will definitely use James again.

James at Lifestyle Kitchen was fantastic to work with throughout our project. He was always very quick to respond to emails, was in constant communication as required and visited us several times when needed. He was patient when it came to finishes - sourcing many samples and making recommendations to ensure we not only got the best from the space, but also got the overall look we were after.

Despite us fitting the kitchen ourselves, he came to help with some elements, to ensure everything was done to a T and we were happy with the end product.

James helped us design and source our dream kitchen. I would thoroughly recommend working with James. He is very helpful, quickly adopting to our changes, but still keeps an eye on the overall cost and we are very, very happy with the final result. James has long experience in the kitchen design and installation business and I believe James speciality is to source exactly the type of kitchen you want, when it comes to design and budget. I do recommend that you have a fairly idea on what design you want before start work and then work with James finalise the details, giving you advice on what works and what doesn't, and finding the 'luxury' that fits your budget. 20 years ago we had an MFI Schreiber kitchen fitted which has suited us just fine but it was starting to look very tired. In addition, over the years the sharp corners of the extractor hood caused numerous painful blows to the head . James provided us with a number of options of style and colour for replacement of drawers and doors without replacing the cabinets. He was nearly £1000 cheaper than other quotes so we went for him.

He turned up when he said he would and fitted the kitchen to a very high standard. One of the supplied drawers had a minute blemish I would not have spotted and one panel had the grain going in the wrong direction. James did spot these issues and fixed them. We are delighted with the finished job which he completed within his quoted price even though the manufacturing defect mentioned above meant he spent an extra day with us. More...

James at Lifestyle kitchens offered me a number of options when replacing my kitchen worktops and doors as well as the installation of two extra cupboards. In addition to this, he and his fitter we're able to carry out a number of other jobs such as fitting a new extractor, hob and cooker for me in a 'partial' kitchen refurb. The kitchen units are great quality and very robust. The whole process from initial consultation to unit selection then onto installation was flawless and I would not hesitate to recommend James and his fitter to anybody wishing to revamp their kitchen. I am extremely impressed with the company and from my dealings with a number of other fitters in the Bedford area, this is by far the best I have had the pleasure of dealing with. As a Carpentry and refurbishment specialist I always offer Lifestyle kitchens as my customers first port of call . James's knowledge is limitless and his attention to detail is excellent. We engaged with James over a year ago. He was very patient. We didn't go anywhere else such was the breadth of what he could offer (everything and anything) and the quality of the product. We had very specific requirements and whilst not overly complicated they were not something you could buy off the shelf. Everything was delivered within the timeframe agreed and he even recommended a fitter who was extremely good.

I would recommend a visit to Marpatt, James organised it for the same day, the doors are excellent, but so are the ideas and it really enables you to visualise what you may want in a no pressure environment.

If you are looking for a very good quality kitchen, need some inspiration and ideas (or not) and don't want to pay over the odds then i would give him a ring. Cannot recommend him enough added to all of that there is absolutely no pressure, James is almost horizontal (in a good way). More...

From the initial meet where James showed me examples against my existing kitchen, I was able to make an informed decision by actually having the physical product in hand to see in its actual intended environment. The quality of the products, the look, feel and finish is exceptional and three months later it looks like the day it was installed. I was disillusioned by the high street and main kitchen retailers...we had spent many hours getting a plan created, followed by the presentation of ridiculous prices which magically £3k - £4k (with permission from the invisible manager) was 'knocked off' before we left the store! I followed this dreadful experience by getting a local kitchen designer to quote and almost fell over at his price. So I opted to design the kitchen myself. Using the online website 'kitchen design programme' after 7 days I had almost given up hope ....I consider myself computer savvy but this surely was a joke, the kitchen would cost about £2000 from the European store (bargain!) but did I have confidence it would fit...absolutely not!

Discussing these dilemma's with my cousin during a family gathering (when I was very down and depressed) he put me in touch with James; whom had also supplied and fitted his kitchen recently which looked stunning. My budget was significantly less than my cousins but I was assured there were more affordable options that could be offered.

So this I did. WOW! James assisted with my design, sent me images, plans, quotes and made some really great suggestions. We spoke on the phone and by email but what a pleasure it is to deal with someone who is both honest and not 'pushy'. We were sent full size door and samples, complete brochures and worktop swatches. Although not as cheap as the cheapest I remained within budget. My wall units came ready assembled and the bottom units were extremely easy to assemble accordingly to my builders. The easiest they had worked with they said! The worktops also the thickest too! No bits missing, all the right fixings as well.

The extension and kitchen is now fully assembled. I am absolutely delighted with the quality of the units; for the price they are absolutely incredible. The personal service and expertise offered by James cannot be praised enough. You WILL pay less than the high street but what you will also get is better quality and a better service (without the pushy sales guy). More...

James, our contact at Lifestyle Kitchens designed our new kitchen and supplied all of the units and doors for our Grade II Listed thatched cottage in East Northants. We opted for doors manufactured by Marpatt in Leicester and James organised a site visit to their factory for us so we could go and view their full range of products and get a better feel for the quality - I can thoroughly recommend them. Their show rooms are extremely impressive and great for picking up ideas. James was great to deal with throughout the design, order, manufacture and installation process. Many companies are good to deal with when things are going well however but James was just as good when we hit a couple of snags during installation - Grade II Listed buildings are a bit more of a challenge than a new build! The whole process was professionally managed and everything was on time and we are very pleased with the end result. Importantly for us, given that we'd spent an awful lot renovating our property, the kitchen was considerably cheaper and better quality than we could have got from the usual high street sources (even after their 'so called' 50% off sales).
