I've known Liam from Kucci a long time and have seen his work, so when I wanted a double storey side extension, and large rear kitchen extension (fully fitted) he was the obvious choice.

We had all our windows, doors, and roof replaced at the same time, so everything looks brand new.

The work was done to a very high standard and everyone loves our huge kitchen, including us.

I've been using Kucci for over 10 years during which they have, essentially, rebuilt 80% of our house. This has included kitchen design/fitting, bathroom, plastering, moving walls, full electrical replacement, plumbing, doors and windows, and installing a 6m 'I' beam through a hole in the side of the house! ! I have always provided Kucci with full access to the house (so we can go away, preferably) and have full confidence in their abilities and attention to detail. More...

Q&As

You require a finished minimum head height of around 2.2m. Taking the new stronger floor joists into account you need usually measure 2.5m from the back of the plasterboard ceiling upto the internal ridge height. If in doubt, ask a competent builder. In some circumstances, the bedroom ceilings can be lowered where possible to make the head height achievable.

- Decide what the space is to be used for
- Consult a builder about the right amount of height
- If its feasible, conside having plans drawn up, loft conversions require space in which to plan for a new staircase
- Decide with the builder if the conversion requires planning permission
- Budget & cost for the work
- Have your builder organise structural calculations and register the project with local Building Control
- With enough discussions and planning, watch your new space be created.

We have traded as a business for over 17 years completing projects in and around Rochdale including surrounding Boroughs.

We honor any work we carry out, but can say honestly, that we need never return to large jobs for anything more than a minor fix.

I enjoy bringing plans into reality and all awhile am happy to continuously see if any improvements can be made along the way. We have suggested changes to many projects because customers sometimes don't have the insight to the possibilities available. I enjoy advising on many fronts and I believe many discussions lead to better planning and an even better end result.

I trained and worked as a Management Accountant for many years but had always had a passion for Joinery. The day I handed in my notice was the starting point for something bigger and I have loved broadening my skills for the past 17 years whilst working with people I can call friends every day. I am passionate about what we do and conscious of the impact our quality workmanship leaves behind.

All clients with large projects should seek references from customers for whom any potential builder may have worked for in the past. We won't ever be the cheapest quote because we are fussy about the materials we use and the standard of work we undertake. We aim to provide great service at a competitive costs and do so with honesty and integrity.

I am able to look over plans from the comfort of my office but sometimes a site visit is required to look at access (for machines such as micro diggers and dumper trucks) and also to have sight of the existing drain lines.

We are mostly working remotely on site but when needing to have direct contact with our customers we are happy to wear masks and discuss things at a distance,

We have converted many lofts and added valuable space to existing properties. As a rule of thumb, you should be able to measure around 2.5m from your floor of your loft to the top of the apex/ridgeline. Some of this space will be used by new, stronger floor joists and some, for alterations to the roof to make it strong enough for conversion. Radiators and stairs mean the room is classed as "Habitable" thus building control regulations apply.

Whilst lofts can be converted and accessed by the use of a folding ladder, they cannot be used as bedrooms and the expenditure adds no real value to the property.

A proper conversion, sometimes with a dormer, adds real space and value.
