******DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY***********
The initial planning stages commenced in late 2019 and continued into Feb of 2020. Both Luke & Joel had a great input and gave us excellent guidance and direction in ensuring that the finished product, was going to be the Kitchen we had waited years to install.
Joel issued an installation programme in late Feb in which all works were going to commence on March 21st 2020, with all works being completed within 14 - 16 days. Due to the extent of the works, the kitchen and front room were also being knocked into one by Kitchen Lift, as a kitchen dinner. All works were planned to be carried out when we were on holiday in SA.
Between 23rd Jan & 19th March 20 we paid a total of £8,112.27 up front payments to get materials ordered and as we were going to be out of the country. The balance was to be paid upon completion of the works upon our return. Then on the 19th March our holiday was cancelled, and shortly there after the country went into the initial Covid lockdown.
Therefore as no one new the full extent and potential delay in the installation of the kitchen etc, I requested on 25th March a refund of the monies pre paid. of this money only £3,750.00 was returned. When I clarified this with Luke he confirmed in an email dated the 25th March that ''I'll get the remaining amount to you when I can'' (£4,365.27) minus £462.27 for flor tiles which had already been delivered to the house.
This money was never paid back to ourselves!! However we did not pursue as we intended to get the work carried out as soon as the lockdown was lifted. And again we did not exposed and at risk because of the professional way they had dealt with ourselves in the planning of the work.
8th June works commenced, and that is when the NIGHTMARE commenced!!!!!
Not showing up for days on end with endless promises.
When they did show, they would be there for minutes let alone a few hours on 90% of occasions before leaving and not returning for any number of days.
When they actually did show up, leaving and absolute mess at the end of the day, making no attempt to clean up after themselves. Not even their own tools, which we just left where they were used, this included both externally of the house as well as internally.
Boxed Kitchen units / materials left out on the drive in all weathers for weeks on end, with no attempt to protect them, and then trying to install them into our house!
Absolutely gobsmacking!!!
It all came to a head in September after 12 weeks, where we had had enough and threw Joel out of the house as the workmanship was the to bad to ignore. Everything that he was touching, we knew we were going to have to put right.
Luke, came to the house that evening and tried in vain to distance himself from the poor standard workmanship. Units already swelling up due to water damage / 40m2 of floor tiles had to be removed and refitted due to poor quality of fitting / island and units had to be taken out and refitted etc etc. He recognised and accepted the issues and said that he only had one sub contractor that he could 'trust' to put the issues right, as he 'could not trust any of his other fitters due to their standard of work'.
It was agreed between us that we would not be paying him for the kitchen, and that any monies 'in principal owed' that we would pay another fitted to cover the cost of putting it right. He also confirmed that in recognition of the stress / hassle and all round poor service we had received, that he would also cover the cost of replacement panels etc with the sub contractor. He also confirmed that all works would be completed by the end of the month (September 20).
Mid October 20 (6 months after commencing) and still nothing had been done to resolve the situation. He informed the sub contractor that he would NOT be paying for any replacement panels and that he wanted nothing more to do with the works, thus leaving us to it! Absolutely Unbelievable!!
We then proceeded to engage with the sub contractor directly, and the works re commenced in December 2020. With works expected to be completed in early Feb 21. The standard of workmanship / communication / reliability is on a different level to Kitchen Lift.
• Whole Kitchen had to be dismantled and what units could be saved were re used.
• All newly installed google lighting system, had to be removed along with the kitchen
• Island had to be dismantled.
• Whole 40m2 floor area of tiles and sub floor had to be taken up and skipped.
At every stage of the works I have taken countless photographs of the poor standard of all aspects of their work, and have no issues in sharing of line.

**STAY WELL CLEAR**

**UPDATE** 18 months on and I have now been told I cannot use my dishwasher and washing machine at the same time as the way they have been fitted is completely unsafe! I was given a sum of money to walk away. I’ll now be exploring this with trading standards and rogue traders as I want a full refund!

Where do we start? This has been the most turbulent and horrific 12 months you could imagine having with a tradesman.

We had saved for a couple of years to get a new kitchen. It was to be the most money we have paid out to get a job done on our house. After doing some research we found Kitchen Lift online, read there Facebook reviews and seen the quality of the work they had done online.

To be honest, both Luke and Joel seemed like good honest young family business that I was more than happy to support.

We booked in with them, their designs were great and we were sold. £7500 later we could not wait. We were booked in for the first week of July.

The week before the start date, we were called to say that they have had to let a team of fitters go due to the quality of work. I happily accepted that and that the start date had to be pushed back three weeks. As compensation for this, kitchen lift covered the cost of the flooring.

We were also told now that Joel would complete the job himself.

Start day comes, and they arrived and ripped out the kitchen. This is when it all started to unfold.

We lost our heating due to them removing the digital clock and breaking the terminals on refitting. They came out that night to try and fix it as we were told it was a fuse by them. It wasn’t. I then had to get British Gas out at a cost of £200. Kitchen Lift took £100 off the bill.

Second day, the wife and arrive home and find that they had fitted the wrong kitchen!

At this point, we accepted it. It was the right colour and design, but the wrong finish. It was gloss, not matte. Back to this later.

We were told the job will be finished in a week. So at end of July, we would have our new kitchen. Did we hell?!

Joel has made such an incredible mess of the splashbacks and failure to turn up on time once in a four week period to finish the snags! Enough was enough.

At this very point, we also told them that a socket was no longer Woking and one of the gas hobs on the cooker was not lighting. They got a gas engineer out to fix the hob, but we are now in December and socket still not working.

So, we are now in mid September and kitchen still not complete. Joel has made such a mess of our walls trying to rectify splashbacks that the walls now need repainting.

Kitchen Lift agreed to remove splashbacks and reptile our walls. However, we had to wait another four weeks for this, which I refused and said I would find a tiler if they would pay. Like agreed for us to get quotes.

I got two highly reputable firms out to cost the job up. They both refused to do the work because of the mess that was made of the kitchen fitting and they did not want to be responsible of any further mess by taking out what Kitchen Lift had done. One firm even said they would be out of business if they had done this job.

When I told Luke this, he came out the next night (we are now in October). First time he came out to the property. He came out and he could see the mess and complete upset he has caused, at this point we pointed out the wrong kitchen had been fitted. He knew immediately. We never wanted gloss, ordered matte finish because of ‘little hands’.

At this point it was now a question of money back or refit the correct kitchen. The latter being the most financially viable option for Kitchen Lift. Maybe I should have asked for money back, but thought they are young company trying to make their way in the world of business so chose the refit.

Agreed this would be done in first week December. We are now entering the third week of December and the kitchen is only half complete. One gas job does not work again and a socket still not working! To add to this the integrated washing machine they fitted is rattling its guts off and the door is about to come off!

Supposedly Luke and his team (now minus his brother Joel, who has been sacked) are coming out to complete the work tomorrow!

It’s now Thursday, 19 December and I have a gas job that doesn’t work, panels not locked in, mess made of plug sockets.

No offer of compensation.

I have a two year old little boy and Christmas around the corner with a kitchen that doesn’t fully work and needs a deep clean.

If they return tomorrow and complete, I will update the review to say so. Facing Christmas without a kitchen, thank you Kitchen Lift!

**UPDATE** 20th June 2020
One year on. Kitchen still not complete and to standard. I have lopsided oven that also sticks out with a massive gap above it.

I have unaligned doors that bang into doors adjacent.

This is an absolute horror story.

Sent a lovely chap out today to try and sort. He did his best but this kitchen is a mess.

I have no invoice of work completed and money paid. I wonder what the inland revenue will think of this?

Luke refuses to speak to me until Monday. I bet I won’t hear back from him until this goes further with trading standards.

Recently had new doors and worktops for my kitchen through KitchenLift. I am so happy with the end result. The quality of what they supplied is brilliant and both Luke and Joel were helpful and friendly throughout the whole process.

Luke and Joel are very pleasant and professional young men. I only had part of my kitchen refurbished but Joel did an excellent job. Slight drawback was timekeeping due to them being so busy as short staffed. However the end result was well worth the wait and to be fair to them I was kept informed of any delays immediately. Thank you very much both x More...
