I have 30 years experience running my own VAT registered business as a sole trader including all the accounting tasks and tax filing. In addition I have had two spells of employment. The first was 8 years as Finance Manager/Company Secretary for a local company that grew from 20 employees and £700k t/o to 180 employees and £5m t/o during my time in role. I successfully implemented and managed many new systems throughout the company's growth to enable tight financial control and enhance the production of monthly management accounts, budgets and cashflow forecasts. Also production of year end accounts and coordinating auditors visit and reports. Second employment was for a local charity that also grew quickly from £600k t/o to £1.5m in just 3 years. I successfully set up their accounting system from scratch and similarly introduced online timesheet recording for 70 casual and 90 seasonal staff and integrated this into a system to produce monthly payroll data. Management accounts and budgets were prepared for bi-monthly trustees' meetings.
