My experience at K9TrainTime left much to be desired and unfortunately did not meet the needs of our German Shepherd, prompting me to share this review for others who might be considering their services.

From the outset, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, with a passive-aggressive undertone that did not foster a positive learning environment. One of the most concerning aspects was the trainer's reliance on treats to manage barking, which amounted to little more than temporarily pacifying the dog without addressing the underlying issue. This approach does not inspire confidence, especially when coupled with the revelation that the trainer's own dog has yet to master reliable recall after three years of training.

Moreover, the advice provided was often perplexing and, at times, questionable—being told "don't touch your dog" left us bewildered about the kind of relationship K9TrainTime envisions between dogs and their owners. Additionally, the decision to use partitions to isolate dogs and owners into separate pens seemed counterproductive, exacerbating rather than calming our puppy's frustration and barking.

Midway through the course, we received an abrupt email canceling our remaining sessions without any clear explanation. This lack of professional courtesy and communication only added to our dissatisfaction.

The singular focus on treats and distraction as training methods is inadequate for any dog expected to behave well outdoors and off-lead. It's increasingly clear that K9TrainTime's approach is misaligned with the fundamentals of effective dog training, which requires a structured and balanced regimen, incorporating both rewards and appropriate corrections.

The experience has led me to view K9TrainTime as the equivalent of snake oil salesmen in the dog training world. Genuine dog training should build a foundation of trust, respect, and understanding between dogs and their owners, something that was conspicuously absent from their program.

For those seeking training for their dogs, especially breeds known for their intelligence and drive like German Shepherds, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. A program that provides a well-rounded, structured, and balanced approach to training will be far more beneficial in the long run.
