Julie's Dog Training

Julie is obviously a very experienced dog training & quickly assessed the training we required to manage our dig Alfie. By doing the trading with us both on our walks we have been able to practice & improve our confidence in handling Alfie . As a result he’s a much calmer dog and we’re now enjoying our walks with him much more. We also feel we’re in charge , rather than Alfie!

First contacted Julie for help with my 4 month old goldie who was a persistent biter, drawing blood and being a right devil dog. I had tried various ideas that Julie gave me but the biting continued. I contacted Julie again as I needed some face to face help with Ruby. The difference was amazing. The biting stopped, and the jumping on the furniture hasn’t happened since. Julie was lovely, highly recommend. We are first time dog parents and so felt we needed some support and help as in how best to support our little dachshund. My parents bought a puppy back in March and they thought she was going to be exactly like our other dog… well she is’nt 🤪 so I researched puppy trainers and came across Julie.

Julie was a little miracle!! We have had the best time with her training our puppy, Bella! Bella wasn’t our first puppy but she is the first we have needed to train so that she behaves outside the house…. Julie has trained both puppy and humans!!

Our time spent with Julie has been immeasurable and we have always progressed and made improvements during the sessions and on our own!

Working with Julie has been immensely rewarding for both my dog and myself. I have a Patterdale X Lakeland Terrier who was becoming more and more reactive towards other dogs. Julie has been helping me and my 7 months German shepherd puppy as a first time dog owner I was quite nervous and Coco was a biiig puppy who never had a proper training or socialised with any other dog before. As a beginner I watched so many videos online and they all included treats but when I didn’t have any treats then it was so hard to get my dog’s attention and if you don’t time the treating well it goes all wrong you can easily reward bad behaviour but when I met Julie everything has changed she doesn’t use treats in her training sessions and shows you how not to and still reward your dog ☺️ she is a calm and confident trainer even after one session you become calmer and more confident because the techniques she teaches you works well ☺️

I’ve worked with Julie on training Flint since he was 6 months old. She’s helped hugely on his recall and lead work. Julie is always clear in her instructions and used helpful video clips to let me see how we could improve.

I have a very bright but very wilful Springer, not always coming when called, lunging at other dogs - wanting to play with them but appearing aggressive, taking off when she pleased, and becoming selectively deaf to my calling her. Over 3 days with only 3 hours training, Julie completely turned her around. Julie doesn't use treats but calmly indicated with body language, simple commands and lots of praise what she wanted Millie to do. If I am being honest, there was quite a bit of training of me as well...
I now feel confident to take her onto the common with other dogs and even into the countryside without worrying that she might annoy sheep. I cannot recommend Julie more highly. More...

It was an astonihing success: miraculous I would even say! In just 3 sessions, Julie calmly and quietly transformed a wilful, disobedient, nightmare of a dog into an immaculately behaved, responsive, aware and grown up elegant animal. With no shouting, no heavy behaviour, no treats offered - just simple steady commands repeated often, a good tone of voice and a very calm presence which the dog picked up on immediately and responded. She is a very clever dog, and I think enjoyed being the focus of attention. Back home, she knows she's done well and is super gracious. Julie clearly has loads of experience to understand a dog's take on a situation and how to help the animal deal with whatever it is. Our nighmare of a dog who used to lunge at others, pull our arms out of their sockets, strain at the leash now walks graciously to heel, and so often just ignores other passing dogs.
