Jay completed the driveway works at my mum's house and was very professional with a keen eye to detail. Have returned to JB Paving for further works. 5 Star.

I decided to use JB Paving as the price was fair and the initial interaction was positive and Jay was very accommodating.
The works generally went well, however I didn’t really inspect the works until completion. I agreed to pay 50% upfront for materials etc, which was fine, although after five days Jay asked for more money to cover costs despite agreeing 50% upfront and 50% at completion. As a good gesture as the guys doing the work were very nice chaps and hard working, I decided to pay another 15% to cover costs and more.

Fast forward a week, the first message I received from Jay following completion was ‘we are done, what are we doing about the final payment’, which is contradictory to the sales talk he gave during the first meeting, which was ‘we won’t ask for payment until the customer is completely happy.’

I told Jay at completion that the pointing needs addressing in areas, however I will pay the remainder on the basis he returns.

Completion was almost four weeks ago. Firstly, they left large bags of sand on private property adjacent to my house, which I was threatened by owner for fly-tipping. This took two weeks to collect, despite paying for a skip that never showed up. The first two weeks Jay completely ignored my calls and they only started responding when I threatened with action. I have had every excuse possible and they still haven’t returned….clearly there’s no incentive as they’ve already been paid, which was a huge mistake.

I urge anyway reading this, be careful as these guys have no concept for customer service, which over time will stunt their growth as a business. I work for one of the largest construction companies in UK and our growth is largely due to customer experience, feedback and promotor score.
