Working with James helped me make sense of many of the life-learning angst-related opportunities I had been presented with until now. James provided a safe space for me to be vulnerable whilst opening up and gaining a greater insight into myself. James has the innate ability to ask the probing and difficult questions no one else has asked, and to read the situation well; recognising when he has scratched the surface of something to dig a bit deeper into.
I finished coaching with James with greater understanding about myself, increased confidence in taking purposeful decisions and renewed recognition of what it means to be true to myself. I have much more certainty and positivity about my future and no longer feel like I am drifting along after others. Most of all, I am grateful to James for enabling me to revisit and reflect on the stories of my life and to be proud of being the person I am today.
My top tip would be to put the work in, to make sure you get the most out of the experience.

Thank you Janet, it was pleasure working with you. Your point about stories is so important; we all construct stories based on past experiences and the lenses through which we view the world. Often they have served us well in the past but they are just stories. We all have the power to change our stories and make up new ones.

Since working with James I have more clarity on decision making and an improved mentality for commitment.


The personal rapport was great. Created an atmosphere where people feel that they can be very open is not an easy task. James managed this with ease.

I think that the coaching process is not linear and seeing how some sessions are better than others but ultimately the trend is that you are learning and getting better bleeds into how you should view things in your life.

Work, personal life, ambitions are not going to move in the direction you need them to all the time. Realising that its fine for that to be the case and letting go of trying to control everything will help you be more flexible and open to different things which might present themselves.

Most people should experience coaching. With James specifically because I think it's felt like a natural process and therefore quite effortless (at least for me), which helps you to cut to the chase and start working on the things you want to.

Remove expectations you may have in your head of what the process is going to be like and just go with the flow of what it actually turns out to be. This is where you will identify and realise things you did not know before.

I really enjoyed the whole process and I'm sure we will get a chance to work in the near future

I contacted James at the early start of the 2020 just before the start of COVID 19. I had left my role looking for a fresh start and as part of that journey I made the brave attempt at being coached to enable me to develop as a better practitioner in my field.

I was unhappy with my role and I really needed a boost to get me to that next level in my career.

The first hesitation I had was whether James would be any good and whether the sessions I would have would make any difference.

The doubts I had were dispelled straight away as we had a non-obligatory chat about the true benefits of what coaching could bring and the disadvantages of not just doing what I needed to.

We also spoke about insights that I had not previously recognised that could galvanise my mindset to achieve better.
James had worked in the Resilience sector like myself so we understood several of the challenges that can be faced and the best thing about James was that our sessions were driven by clear goals and determined values which encompassed a proactive approach in achieving my goals.

James is a dignified and genuine guy, he is worldly and understands that life is one big challenge, it’s not a bed of roses but we make the life we choose, he is the type of guy to give you a reality check and provide you with the tools necessary to make the changes needed.

Since working with James I have secured the role I had sought for many a year and the sessions have given me the confidence to further my aspirations in my chosen field.

It also provided me with ways to think differently than when I was faced with adversity in the past.
