Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I work accross the board style wise, from sleek modern to contemporary traditional and everything in between.
I work in the style that best suits my clients and their space rather than dictating a fixed style, ensuring that my designs are always sympathetic to the period and size of the house and that they fit with my client's lifestyle and needs.
What do you love most about your job?
I love helping people to create homes that they love.
I truly believe that good design improves lives, and nowhere is that more important than in the home.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My daughter says I’m ‘fussy, but in a good way, you like things to be right!’, it’s true, I do like everything to be right – including every detail of your design.
House by Mia was born in 2015, when I couldn’t hold this passion back any longer. I bring 15+ years of corporate project managment and graphic design experience, an MA in design as well as art curation and food writing with me. I invest all of this rich experience into my work every day.

I have extensive experience working both in person and remotely as I have clients accross the UK.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I have moved much of my early meetings online and am only doing in person visits when necessary and when my clients (and regulations) feel comfortable doing.
I am minimising public transport usage and masking/hand sanitising whenever required.
Kitchen & Bath Design
It is vital to get these technically complex spaces right. They are expensive to build and hard to alter once in place so you need to get these right, first time. There are dozens of small but important decisions to be made in a bathroom or kitchen design, and most of them have the potential to be really irksome if you get them wrong. I plan multiple kitchens and bathrooms every year so can navigate this complex job with ease, ensuring that you won’t have planning regrets, or underwhelming high street kitchen store results
Space Planning
One of the fundamentals of good design is making sure that function is optimised, that your home flows and works for you in the way you want to live in it. I plan spaces that are bespoke to your lifestyle. I look at all the small details of how you use your home to make sure that they are taken into consideration so the space isn’t just beautiful, but that it also functions beautifully for you.
Furniture & Accessories
Once a space is well planned, the furniture and lighting bring the space to life. I scour the furniture and lighting suppliers to find you just the right piece for each and every spot, the lights that will add mood to your room and the accessories that will finish it to a perfect point. I also source vintage pieces, and design/produce bespoke items based on your exact needs, so your space is unique and chic.
Art Selection
Art is the jewellery of a room, whether we are working together on a full project or you are just stuck with blank walls and unsure how to dress them. I draw on my curatorial experience to find art that you adore. Like with all the other design elements, I tease out your preferences to find you art that you’ll love.

One of my key values is in supporting you, taking you through the process with ease, solving problems as they arise, communicating with builders and other trades and demystifying technical language.
