What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
In my opinion, there is no secret. All you need is great, upbeat music and a positive attitude towards your event. I encourage requests and am able to respond to these in quick fashion, which in turn keeps everyone on the dance floor.
I always have a special playlist ready to go which contains tried and tested classics, and timeless tunes from years gone by. You need to have a wide range of musical tastes to thrive in this job and my collection certainly reflects this.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
My style varies depending on each event. I hold down residencies in several bars across East Sussex which require me to play a mix of Disco, Dance, New-Wave and Post-Punk, but I have a large collection of songs that range from the 00s right back to the 60s. On occasion I play House & Electronic music when the clientele and venue is right. In one word I would say 'Varied'
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy working to a brief and challenging myself. For me, there is no better feeling than playing a song which captures the mood and gets everyone off their seats. I think of it as a privilege and an enjoyable challenge to provide my customers with the perfect soundtrack to their night.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Back in 2012 I was working in a pub and would always intently watch DJ's playing at the weekends. This really encouraged me to give it a go and I began a monthly residency at the same venue . 7 years on, I still perform there as well as holding down several monthly residencies in the area. It is a great feeling doing something you love whilst having the freedom of working for yourself.

I am a friendly, and adaptable individual that has many years of experience in this line of work. I enjoy working closely with my clients to ensure they are provided with the best experience possible. (and I have the best tunes :) )
