Beware of Unprofessional Conduct: My Experience with Fairview Estates I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Fairview Estates, a letting agency that left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. Here's my story: I was in search of an apartment near my friend's place, and upon their recommendation, I contacted the landlord, Platform Housing. Platform Housing directed me to Fairview Estates, who were managing an upcoming rental property. Despite my keen interest and consistent follow-ups over a two-month period, Fairview Estates only granted me a viewing of the apartment after significant persistence on my part. However, to my dismay, they awarded the apartment to another applicant, despite assurances that my application was equally eligible. What transpired next was even more disheartening. Fairview Estates responded to my concerns in a dismissive and unprofessional manner, citing reasons such as a lack of urgency in my application and failure to highlight my situation during the viewing. This couldn't be further from the truth. I had been in regular communication with them, even arranging for a friend to view the apartment on my behalf due to travel commitments. Moreover, I made it abundantly clear that I was well-acquainted with the property and its surroundings, as my friend resided nearby. The viewing was merely a formality for me, and I promptly confirmed my interest and submitted my application upon receiving feedback from my friend. It's evident that Fairview Estates' decision-making process lacked transparency and integrity, ultimately resulting in favoritism towards another applicant. Such behavior is unacceptable in any professional setting, let alone in the realm of property management. I urge anyone considering renting through Fairview Estates to proceed with caution. Their disregard for fairness and professionalism should serve as a warning sign to prospective tenants. As for me, I will be taking my business elsewhere and ensuring that others are made aware of my unfortunate experience. In conclusion, Fairview Estates' conduct falls far short of acceptable standards, and I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone seeking rental accommodation. Reply to the owners response: See the below email from your staff. “You had someone view on your behalf who carried out a video tour, there was no mention from them the urgency of your application. They could see other interested parties on the day and didn’t highlight your situation to us.” What does it mean? If the urgency was mentioned, Then you would have favoured my application? “Throughout our interactions with you, our team has maintained a high level of professionalism. While we understand your disappointment, we respectfully acknowledge your feedback.” I have to sent almost 5 plus emails to get a response from your professional staffs. Now I understood, it is not only the staff, the entire organisation has very low standard of professionalism. I hope the readers too understand the same. PS: I won’t stop it here. While our representatives may inform us of interested parties, our involvement typically extends to offering reference services only. In certain cases, such as the one in question, we were instructed to list the property on platforms like Rightmove for public viewing. To ensure transparency and fairness, we schedule viewings on a first-come, first-served basis. However, applications are thoroughly reviewed, and details are forwarded to Platform Housing for final confirmation. Regarding the specific property you inquired about, we received over 30 enquiries and conducted 10 viewings, including yours. Each viewing resulted in applications, all of which were meticulously reviewed. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we were unable to proceed with your application, and you were duly informed. As a business, we strive to uphold fairness and ethics throughout our processes. It's essential for us to avoid any resemblance of favouritism and to treat all applicants equally. We cannot prioritise one individual's circumstances over another's. Many applicants expressed their enthusiasm for the property, emphasising its suitability to their needs. Recently moved out of a rented property these were in charge off & our experience with fairview was poor. They sent an email basically accusing our dog off fouling etc without checking the facts & indeed it was another dog by another neighbour,we phoned ask for a gate key never got one I had to climb over a wall twice to get in & finally tried to charge £60 for a oven clean which needs replacing & was better when we moved in so a said we would go to court we got an abrupt email back but they backed down. I have used Fairview Estates to manage my property for the last 2 years. I can honestly say I’d be lost without them! I had no experience in managing tenants and property so was relieved when I found Fairview Estates. They make everything incredibly simple and just get on with doing things in the background which allows me to focus on other things however I’m always consulted before any big decisions are made.
