My survey was carried out By Garry Low and his colleague.very informative guy ,explained everything as we went along.Garry even detected a gas leak at my boiler assisted me in calling emergency gas leak call out team who attended and found leak and fixed . thankfully Garry detected this as I did not realise there was a gas leak,I hope I qualify for this heating upgrade. Initially our experience with Energy Pig was very positive - the installation of the cavity wall insulation and fitting the insulation in the roof space went smoothly. Beyond that we have a number of issues. 1 - When the installation team looked at our underfloor space, they told us that they couldn’t fit the insulation (as quoted). Not only was this disappointing; it also meant that we were not able to benefit from the Scottish Government Energy grant. This grant should have been used to offset the cost of the roof space insulation. So we are out of pocket. 2 - The trickle vents that were fitted to two of our windows have reduced the effectiveness of our double glazing. Not only have we lost soundproofing, we are also getting draughts through these windows. It seems to me that the vents installed are not fit for purpose - they cannot be opened/closed effectively. 3 - We have not yet received an updated EPC for the work that has been completed. Overall, we are not satisfied with the service that we have received. At this point, we would not recommend Energy Pig. (We sent the above to Energy Pig in December 2023 - we have not had any response to date.) More...

Gary Low visited our house to complete an insulation survey. He arrived on time, explained what he was going to be doing and the reasons for it. He was respectful of our young children that were about to go for a nap and carried out the noisy work first so as not to disturb them once they were asleep. I found this company excellent in every way. Installing my new heat pump they turned up on time and worked like beavers over three days till it was completed. They were a friendly bunch and on completion they left minimal mess. I did have some issues with the installation for about a week afterwards, but they sent an engineer twice all the way from Glasgow ( I live in Caithness and it's a 10 hour round trip.) in order to get the problem solved. The cause was an issue regarding a faulty pump, a manufacturing rather than an installation fault. I have since been in touch with them via email regarding some documents I required, and I received them promptly. I would highly recommend the company. More...

I answered to a leaflet drop by Consumer Rights and they organised for Gary to come out to do a home survey. Gary was very friendly and put me at ease straight away. He was very efficient and thorough and took his time with every little detail. He had to drill some test holes to check insulation in my flat room and tidied up exceptionally well when he was finished. He explained everything at each stage and told me why he was doing it. (Edited in response to their reply) I want to leave an honest and balanced review but unfortunately the overall verdict is this is a company I’d strongly recommend avoiding. (I initially contacted them following a friend’s positive experience but mine was pretty awful.) When I first phoned, I spoke to Neil and he was very helpful explaining the process and even guided us towards government funding available. Someone came fairly quickly after the phone call to view our house and take the details required for a quote. It was then a 6 week wait to get the quote which required a lot of phoning up and chasing. Once quotes were received, I submitted the forms for the grant and as soon as this was approved, EnergyPig were quick to book us in, even moving another client to work around our schedule, which was really appreciated. Unfortunately, this is where things really went down hill. The workmen who arrived did not treat our home with respect. It was a wet day and they didn’t wipe their feet coming in, tracking the wet mud from doing our subfloor insulation first throughout our home to only then cover the carpets with plastic afterwards for doing the loft. They finished working early, about 3pm, saying they weren’t able to finish the job and would be in touch the following day to schedule another date to complete it ASAP. Once they’d left, we discovered muddy handprints up our stair walls and chips in the plaster as they must have knocked things they were carrying up despite it being a fairly large hall. Our bathroom was covered in muddy footprints and they’d clearly only half washed their hands because our towels were covered in black dirt. We even found the toilet unflushed. I have absolutely no problem with them using our toilet but expected a little common decency. We then went to inspect the job’s progress to discover they hadn’t removed the old insulation as per quote and were just laying new on top. I emailed with photos to complain about the state of our house and that the job wasn’t done as per quote. 2 weeks later, no reply so I sent another, bearing in mind we were also waiting on a “ASAP date” from them for completing the job. The eventual reply from Liz contained no apology and in fact was rather abrupt in stating that protective plastic was put down, ignoring the other issues raised or the fact this plastic was clearly ineffective. We then had to phone and phone to try get a date for them to complete the job to the point we were recording voice calls in case we had to go to an ombudsman for a resolution. In the end it was over 6 weeks before they came back to finish the job. A different team came to finish it and the joiner was much more communicative. Explained when things needed to be done slightly different to plan and we didn’t have the same mess as with the first time so no issues there. We then waited 8 weeks to get our invoices required for the grant. When they were finally received, they didn’t supply a post-installation EPC as required for the grants, and when I asked for it, I was provided with another unexpected invoice for it. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend using this company at all, especially for such an expensive service. We felt there was a significant lack of communication and management of expectations. Their customer service is massively lacking, from long waits for quotes/invoices, being left for 6 weeks with an unfinished job, hidden charges and complete lack of apology with a reply that was basically gaslighting - avoid at all costs! Josh & his team, Paul & Robert to name just two, installed my new boiler with exceptional care, very helpful & knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble for them. I also had underfloor insulation carried out as part of the job. I can't say enough about these guys...so genuine and efficient. I'm absolutely delighted with the work, minimal disruption & super quick. They were all very professional, respectful & friendly and they went over and above with a few things including fixing my bathroom taps and resolving a pre existing issue with old pipes. I'm also grateful to Elizabeth & David R who were my main contacts during the process. Both very attentive and efficient with arranging prompt responses to a couple of minor quirks due to my old system, they made the whole process so smooth & stress free. Had Gary low out doing a survey of my house today came a fair distance and was on time, Gary seemed very knowledgeable was very friendly down to earth guy took around two and half hours to complete explain things as he went along very professional this was for getting a grant to replace a solid fuel heating system as disability are making it a struggle now living in an upstairs flat energypig and Gary seemed very professional in what they do from initial phone call to Gary's survey 100%

Yes, we carry out boiler virtual surveys and we have found this be effective measure especially when quoting for a boiler or helping a customer top pressure up etc rather than a call out.

All installers and surveyors have been issued with a full COVID ppe kit and we limit the contact and switched to digital rather than paperwork
