We reached out to River after struggling a lot with Nala's (our dog) separation anxiety. She was deeply unhappy every time my partner or I even stepped out of the flat and causing some damage to our things whenever we were away. I lost a lot of good plants over that period. Anyhow we had a very good session with River where she went over what we were doing right, what we were doing wrong, and an action plan that we could use to work on developing Nala's confidence and ability to be left on her own for a bit. We have done our best to stick to it and have made some real progress and I'm really happy at seeing how far Nala has come. We still have a ways to go but I know if we continue to follow River's advice we will get there in the end. More...

I have a five year old deaf dog who was becoming more and more reactive, resulting in her snapping and nipping a child. I knew then that I needed professional help and came across EDB. With Rivers help, I now feel I have the tools and a much better understanding of how these behaviours manifest and indeed stack up. I am now working to help my anxious dog to make better choices by going back to the beginning and desensitising her to all her triggers( Bikes, children, Hi- vis jackets, scooters etc.) I also now understand that I may never have the ' Perfect ' dog but that I have to make the choices for Lottie so that I make her life less stressful. With the great support from River and brilliant follow up notes we are getting there! Already after three sessions,Lottie is now checking in with me more and we are managing to avoid, not all ,but many of her trigger points. It's early days and you have to go into this with the attitude you are in this for the long haul! I now feel confident that as long as I (and others in her life ) keep up the skills I have now learnt, we will get there and Lottie will be a more relaxed happy and less reactive dog. We initially called EDB for help with our cocker spaniel who was showing signs of aggression towards other dogs (at random). We had an initial meeting with River who listened to all of our worries and concerns and River was excellent with our Spaniel. We had 3 other sessions after the initial meeting, which included interactive games and observation with our Spaniel. After each session River provided us with a nice clear summary in writing of things for us to work on. Now our Spaniel is showing great improvements which we continue to work on. Any questions we had during and even after River has been quick to reply with nice clear and comprehensive advice. She even helped us find a new (excellent!) dog walker. Would highly recommend!!
