How long have you been in business?
D&K has been trading since 2002
My journey to become a professional tradesman started in 1982 when I began my bricklaying apprenticeship.
Being in a trade runs in the family as my father was a carpenter and joiner and my grandfather helped build the spitfire with a skilled team of engineers and my son is in charge of the D&K roofing team so it really does run in the family.
What guarantee does your work come with?
D&K are members of the Federation of Small Business and we provide a professional honest service and have done for many years.
With that in mind our approach to guarantees is that upon completion of the project if there are any issues that arise as a result of works undertaken by D&K we would not hesitate to rectify them.
What do you love most about your job?
All of our projects differ in size and complexity and so the varied nature keeps it fresh and exciting all of the time.
My business partner and myself also enjoy working with our team of highly skilled subcontractors with whom we have built up a great working relationship over the many years and this has been positively commented on by many of our clients.
Also we love seeing the project evolve from design to completion which is very satisfying for everyone involved.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After working on site for a number of years for larger companies I felt the need to strike out on my own and start a construction company that would reflect my working values and standards.
A few years on my business partner joined me and so in 2002 D&K Building Services was formed.
From that point onwards we have gone from strength to strength.
