I rented a few vans from CitiRental/Practical in Swiss Cottage. I have also rented from other companies so I know what I am talking about. I would like to endorse this company. I think their service is well above average, the rental staff is helpful and the rental rates are excellent. I really like renting from this company. When you rent a van from CitiRental/Practical in Swiss Cottage the rental agent goes round the vehicle with you. Invariably there are a couple of dings here and there so he marks them on a check sheet and both I and the agent sign the sheet. When the vehicle is returned they compare the state of the van with the check sheet. Needless to say they charge for any additional damage. It is the same with any rental company and indeed even if one damages your own car you need to get it fixed – same applies to rental companies. Little trick though. Take out the additional insurance. Anything could happen. You leave the van parked and wallop somebody bumps it. What can you do? Moaning and groaning about the rental company doesn’t cut the mustard. Stuff happens. The rental can hardly pay my damage bills for me ……… should they? More...

I hired a van with CitiRental-Vans and they did not disappoint! I was given a brand new van which was very clean (almost showroom condition) and very fuel effecient. (Re-filled once in 150 miles). I am very pleased with both the service, the price and the vehicle that I hired.It was very easy to book and cost a lot less than other places that I checked e. g Enterprise.I booked a van on Thursday night for Friday afternoon and it was so easy and straightforward.Cost was a major factor as other companies were charging so much more. Especially, after additional charges were being included because of the weekend.I highly recommend that this company be used because its value for money and their vehicles are of a high standard.I am very pleased with their service and would definitely use them again. The gentleman was extremely helpful and customer focussed and the the van was clean and in very good shape for a hire van. I did 200 plus miles and it was great to drive and had no faults whatsoever. Checking the van back in was quick and easy - the only thing that I would have liked was a receipt for the van confirming the amount of the deposit refund for peace of mind. The refund has come on time and is what I expected so I had no need to worry. A very good experience which I would recommend to anybody. More...

CitiRental. What a great company and I mean that. Great cars and good value. I rented one of their new Nissans for a week but unfortunately I fell ill on the day I was due to return it. I called them and explained the problem. I spoke a charming Aussie or maybe he was a Kiwi (can’t tell the difference – sorry …) Anyway he said “no worries” I’ll pick up the car for you. Nice staff and It was very quick and easy to collect and drop off the car. Got my deposit back in 24h and the whole process was very smooth. The only negative was that when I booked the car I was quoted £77.85 for 3 days and I ended up paying more than double £179. I expected the cost to be higher due to the usual charges (insurance, GPS...) but not more than double. Although the price is still competitive I think quotes should be more accurate. I had to pay an extra day because they were closed and I'd have preferred being notified when I made the booking but other than that the service was great. More...
