A fantastic experience for both parent and child to overcome all the haunting fears related to 11plus exams. The small group tution with a maximum of 9 pupils offers a very healthy and respectful environment and my daugher loved her tutor so much that she wants to continue with the tution even after finishing her exams. My son was enrolled on the Foundation and 11+ course and passed both Bucks and Slough very comfortably. The course was well structured and my son coped well with the amount of work. I felt I could ask questions and check his progress anytime. There is a tremendous amount of different publications issued which, I feel, helped us meet the standard of the 11+. My elder daughter joined the foundation course in 2015 and then did the 11+ course as well in Sir Tailor. The foundation course made her ready for the 11+ as she has become more organised and confident. The small group size gave her the opportunity to interact with the tutor more and also ask her all the queries.The videos were a added bonus as she can go back and review any topic any time.The course was concept based not only helped her to just pass 11+ but also helping her a lot in her school work and for preparing SAT's.They have issued lots of publications and work sheets and at the same time make sure that the work load was not high and she always had time for other activities.The online report and the feedback were very helpful as I was able to see the performance very week and the progress my daughter was making.Not only that they conduct mocks at the end of the course and the parents are allowed to view the paper and discuss with the tutor about how to guide them in those last few weeks before exam.She coped well with the course and its stress free.Because of this positive experience I had with Sir tailor I have also enrolled my younger daughter into 11+ course in 2017, as 6 months into the course she was doing well and at the same time enjoying it. My son attended in 2016-17 and really benefitted from this experience, both in terms of confidence and in mastery of useful strategies for the 11 plus. I was really appreciative of the fact that while there was always a lot to do, he never felt swamped by the amount of work which allowed him time to rest and participate in other activities. My eldest son Dylan was with Sir Tailor for 2 years. He did both the foundation and normal 11+ course. He passed both Berkshire and Buckinghamshire with flying colours.
Concentrate on what Sir Tailor tutors tell you, as it makes a massive difference to the outcome. Especially listen to the part where they tell you to concentrate on the kids mistakes.
I have my second son Taran who is currently on foundation course. He is also doing well.
My personal view is all kids should be put through the process. Not to pass the 11+ but to go through process as everything you are taught will be useful in adult life.

I loathe the 11 plus process but having had my daughter go through tuition for 1 year with sir tailor I can’t recommend his classes highly enough !
!
We chose sir tailor because as promised he kept the class sizes small to 8 children which makes huge difference. Some of the other “centres” are practically like lecture theatres...
The content of the course was supported by consise videos which we had to watch before the lessons. They were engaging and allowed my daughter to be pre warned of what was about to be taught .. so any apprehension or issues with the content could be covered before diving into the lesson.
Sir tailors structured approach on NVR is amazing ... and really provided my daughter with a logical strategy to approach difficult questions.
The admin team were also excellent in their communication telling us all what to do when!!! ( reminding us with easy tables of key deadlines ... i was sharing these with all my friends who had nothing like this from their children’s tutors)
Sir tailor also didn’t plug riddiculously expensive intensive courses ... there was no need as all the Material was covered .
He also did a mock test and encouraged parents to attend immediately after so we could go through any struggle areas together as parent child & tutor!
I genuinely felt that sir tailors ethos was about developing my child and giving her a chance to learn an 11 plus curriculum not a business churning kids in and out ...
To summarise ;
1) small class sizes
2) videos to support lessons and revision at end
3) weekly homework (realistic not soul crushing!)
4) didn’t add in extra intensive classes just to make extra money ..: encouraged holiday time to let kids be kids!
5) genuinely interested in kids welfare and expressed ethos of growth not passing a one off 11 plus test !!!
6) unlike others who package work up as their own ... sir tailor openly uses publications from different sources which challenged the kids to answer questions in different styles.
7) gave specific feedback at the end of each lesson face to face and online on the portal .
Can’t recommend highly enough ... and I don’t believe my daughter would have passed with flying colours without his lessons ..... huge thank-you !!!!!
