DO NOT TRUST THIS DENTAL SURGERY
My experience with Chelsea dental spa has been what can only be described as a nightmare from the start.
I was lured into their clinic by their (what I now know) ‘misleading Instagram’ posts advertising cosmetic bonding. They claim on their Instagram page that they are ‘experts in cosmetic bonding’, which actually could not be any further from the truth.
I paid A LOT of money for the treatment and the main reason I went to this practice was because I truly admired Dr Goma’s work and felt confident in his hands after my initial consultation. I agreed to and paid for the treatment (composite bonding) on the basis and express understanding that such treatment would be completed and performed by a specialised and qualified dentist, i.e. Dr Goma. This was not the case.
I went into the clinic for my cosmetic bonding treatment and was met by a dental HYGIENEST. I had my suspicions (as this was the person who initially cleaned my teeth a few weeks prior to this), but had no reason not to go ahead with it given this Hygienist informed and assured me she was a qualified dentist. Can you believe I was explicitly lied to about her professional title in the chair as I waited for my treatment to be undertaken? I only found this information out myself after googling her name and doing my own research after I left the practice that day. This is akin to a nurse carrying out invasive surgery, without the presence or assistance of a qualified doctor. She also had no photos of her work when I asked to see copies (to reassure me), which shows and evidences her lack of experience, skill, professionalism and knowledge in this area.
After completion of the treatment with the dental hygienist, I was entirely dissatisfied not only with the appearance of my teeth (they were completely uneven, not the shade I asked for and my teeth were practically glued together) but also being forced to endure almost 4 and a half hours of what I can only describe as torture and pure discomfort. The hygienist was very rough throughout the entire procedure as evidenced by the large and unsightly scratch she made across my cheek during the treatment itself!!! I had this on my face for almost two weeks after the procedure. My teeth were so sensitive and tender after. She had no clue what she was doing and to put it bluntly, I was, for all intents and purposes, a ‘bunny’ tester, for this kind of treatment at their practice. I literally came home and cried. I have been conned A LOT of money and have not been compensated fairly. I don’t ever write reviews but I felt this one needs to be shared to prevent further malpractice or in the instance they damage someone else’s teeth and scam them over £2000.
To add to the matter, my experience with this dental clinic even before the treatment was what can only be described as a very ‘odd’ one. Their staff member suggested my partner seeks dental treatment elsewhere when he was in the middle of treatment, explaining their treatments are ‘too expensive’ and asked for his contact details, making us both feel extremely uncomfortable in the clinic room. I really can’t stress how unprofessional and DODGY this dental clinic is and I urge you not to make the same mistake I did.

We take pride in being transparent on all of our social media platforms and most importantly only post work which is completed by our high skilled in-house clinicians. As a cosmetic clinic we take pride in being highly experienced particularly within composite bonding which is reflected on our reviews and social media posts. You also state your treatment was completed by a hygienist which is in-fact incorrect and would be unlawful as a dental practice to allow this. You were seen by our qualified Dental Therapist (GDC no 192868) who is fully qualified with over 10 years of experience and is fully qualified in carrying these procedures, therefore your statement of ‘nurse carrying out an invasive surgery without the presence of an assistant or doctor’ is completely false, as such composite bonding is nor an invasive surgery. We appreciate you were unhappy with the final result and as a gesture of goodwill we had re-done the procedure for you; as it is most important all of our patients are pleased with the final result of their treatment. Composite bonding can be a long chair time for patients and on average can take a few hours to complete. We understand your frustration, however following further investigations I can confirm it is untrue that you were scratched and the practice holds evidence which indicates the mark was already present which is projected on before and after pictures. Since the procedure we have ensured you left happy with the final result and have also issued a 50% refund of your total treatment cost – taking into consideration you still chose to have all of your treatment completed at Chelsea Dental Spa. We cannot comment on where your partner chooses to receive dental treatment. All of the staff were always very pleasant to deal with, particularly Latha who was an absolute superstar, although I know she know longer works here. Although the clinic is not situated close to where i live, the regular trips to the clinic became something I looked forward to, due to the consistently high quality service. I had dental implants done at this practice several months ago and the entire process had only been 5* from start to finish. The staff are extremely friendly, the practice is always clean and the the practioners are really professional. I was dreading getting the procedure done but everything was explained thoroughly and I was reassured before, during and after, with all follow up appointments kept as close to each other as possible whilst accommodating my availability.
