CAS was recommended by a friend, and I was very happy with the service they provided, converting a disused farm building into a single storey retirement dwelling. They produced a really collaborative design, which complemented and complied with the restrictions of a conversion within an AONB. The design and 3D images were brilliant, and made decisions much easier to make. CAS oversaw the application process as well as design, including all surveys required - bats, nesting birds, contamination, asbestos, highways - sourcing and recommending professionals locally to provide the services. What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy the whole process from concept design and helping you to visualise (with the use of 3D visulisations!) to guiding you through the construction process! The best bit is seeing the construction happen, when what's on paper finally exists!
What inspired you to start your own business?
After having worked in a number of practices for residential architecture over the years I felt that the focus was on high end projects with large budgets and that there were many projects being left behind. I want to create an alternative for the homeowner instead of going to a local builder and getting a generic extension and allowing them to have an extension designed to their needs and wants. I use all of the tools the big practices do- 3D visualisation, computer modelling, etc to help you visualise your dream space!

I can provide services remotely or online, however a measured survey of the property will need to be carried out to allow accurate drawings to be produced. There are companies that can provide this service, or I can allow for it in our fees, its even possible for you to do this yourself if you feel confident enough!
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
The initial consultation is generally a zoom meeting, then an in person consultation can be arranged. All current guidance (social distancing, wearing a mask) will be adheared to. Other meetings are also held on zoom to reduce the amount of contact required.
