What do you love most about your job?
There is something special about the look a dog gives you when he is completely content. The love in a dogs eyes when they feel happy and satisfied with their life is hard to beat. Being able to sped my days with dogs, with the aim of achieving that look with each of them, is the best part about my job!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was working a typical 9-5. Out of the house for roughly 12 hours a day, on a good day. My bills were paid on time and my daughter was financially cared for. But there was something missing. Passion & Time. I had no real passion for what I was doing and, as a parent, I felt like I wasn't prioritising time where it mattered most.
My passion has always been with dogs and, luckily that's where my talents lie. So with the support of family and friends around me, I took the leap of faith and started Canine College.
It was the best decision I ever made! I love what I do. Not only will I pass on a trade to my daughter but an invaluable life lesion too; do what you love, there's nothing holding you back!
Why should our clients choose you?
I specifically tailor all my training to each dog on an individual basis. No two dogs are the same, even ones from the same family. Therefore, the same training cannot be expected to work the same way for each pooch.
Canine College offers a free, no obligation consultation with the option of an initial telephone call to gather specific information on your pup. This will allow us to establish what your goals are and what length of training you would require.
On a personal level, I always put my clients and their pets first. The happiness on each dog I train and the satisfaction of their mums and dads is the reason I do what I do. That is and always will be my number one priority.
Puppy Training
Puppy Training is teaching specific commands to your pup which are easy and natural for him/her to understand and retain. This can vary from toilet training to sit/stay/come and all the other essential commands a puppy should learn to keep them happy and safe. It can also include trick training such as roll over, beg and speak just to name a few.
Dog Training & Behaviour Adjustment Training
Could your dog benefit from a little extra training? Is he stubborn about doing what he's told when he's told? Or are there more serious issues at hand such as lack of recall, nuisance barking or aggression? Don't worry, you CAN teach old dogs new tricks. All it takes is a little extra TLC, time and commitment to remove those unwanted behaviours allowing you and your pal to live a much more relaxed life.
Home Boarding
Whether its work commitments, a holiday in the sun or an unexpected event, we offer a safe, warm and loving home from home for your pooches when you are away. Always tailored to your dog's own needs Canine College strives to keep your pup happy and content while they are visiting in my own home. Surrounded by a mixture of woodland areas, open fields and rivers your doggo will never be far from a good walk. An enclosed back garden offers constant access to outside and a dog oriented home allows access to roam where ever they wish with cuddles and kisses around each corner.
