We booked in November and had it all confirmed and then got cancelled 7 weeks before we leave. Apparently they are now full and can’t move anything around. Similar has happened to friends of mine. It used to be a fantastic service but not anymore.

Even booking to register your dog (our second dog) consists of them cancelling on the day, not replying when you have taken time off work to meet at a time that suits them.

Such a shame as it used to be great and we have spent a lot of money with them over the years. More...

I used this service once and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My Labrador was happy when returned to us and the pics sent were reassuring. We also got this rescue dog, small size and I would like him to be part of it so i have been trying to get hold of the branch that covers my area for months and no reply, voice mail messages doesn't ring back, now I rang the office and spoke to someone that stated that was there only to answer the phones but would tell her that I rang. Received a WhatsApp message straightaway to say that cannot help me and she's more than happy to provide details of people that can help. I mean... half a year?! This was our first time using Barking mad Cleveland. There was a sleepover type arrangement to ensure Tilly settled when she went for a longer period. I was a nervous wreck. Tracy put me at ease & promised that Tilly would be fine. And she was! Tracy text me within a few hours to reassure us that Tilly was settled, and sent videos and pics. It was obvious how settled and happy Tilly was! You could see Tilly was having the best time! I was so happy to have Tilly home the following evening, and she was her usual self. we had a lovely little postcard telling us what Tilly had been up to. Tilly then went on to do a weeks stay with the host, again I received pictures and videos to reassure me she was settled, and then another post card at the end. Our pampered princess is a Romania rescue and we were really careful about deciding if. wanted to leave her with anyone. Elaine and John have been absolutely fantastic , they fully understand our concerns and we organised a trial weekend to see how she would be. We had no reason to worry Lucy had an amazing time. We were sent regular updates and pictures of how she was doing. After such a successful trial she's just come back from a week away and again with regular updates we've had a holiday ourselves knowing that Lucy has been looked same way we would do ourselves. 100% recommend their services to anyone. Anne from Barking Mad (Shropshire) has gone above and beyond to provide an amazing service for our fur baby. Anne spent time finding out in depth and detailed information and getting to know our pup to make sure she found the perfect hosts for him. Vinnie went for a trial sleepover and we were kept up to date with photos and updates. He has had his weeks holiday and again we were kept in the loop with how he was getting on. You can tell Anne has a very genuine passion for dogs and the business. It was refreshing to see someone have a genuine love for their work. This was our first time using Barking Mad, and was a sleepover type arrangement to ensure Micky settles when he goes for a longer period. Micky handled the collection like a pro, i however, was a bag of nerves! Mark put me at ease & promised that Micky would be fine. And he was! Mark text me within a few hours to reassure us that Micky was settled, and Colin & Lorraine sent videos and pics to Mark, which he sent us. It was absolutely obvious just how settled and happy Micky was! You could tell he was having the best time! I was so happy to have Micky home the following evening, and he was his usual self. Mark told me how Micky had comandeered the sofa and had slept with Colin & Lorraine on their bed, and my heart was full- they are my kind of people! Just to top off such a wonderful experience, we had a lovely little postcard telling us what Micky had been up to. It’s such a special touch. I cannot tell you how anxious i was, it was pretty ridiculous to be honest, but Barking Mad calmed these worries and it was obvious Micky was in the best of hands. Our 3dogs Josie Jess an Bella have been going to barking mad for the last few years an can honestly the service is fantastic , I wouldn’t put them anywhere else. my 2westies are 14 yrs now an one has lymphatic cancer so decided this year not to send them away but Bella is as she’s too young for my mum to cope with all 3 dogs an Nicola from barking mad could not of been more helpful by even saying they have hosts to look after poorly dogs . I'm a host for barking mad and it gives me great delight taking these dog's into my home with my own dog,you treat them like family and they really enjoy coming back to me because they get love cared for walk's etc etc,I love this also my dog see's the van and he waits to see who is coming to stay,yes I would recommend Barking Mad you can leave your dog and know they are well looked after.

I met Becci as a nurse while working my vet assigmnets. She helped me when I was in last minute search for my dog sitter. Everything went professional and as planned . Marley was picked up and delivered to my home address and I got pictures about his foster stay. Really satisfied and impressed and hope I will be a better ient next time. Brilliant service I have been using barking mad for quite a few years. Becky Spall is wonderful she always makes sure both myself and my dog buster are happy with everything. I get plenty of photos while I am on holiday. Buster always goes to the same family. We used Barking Mad as we were going to a family wedding, so our normal sitters weren’t available as they were going as well. I was a bit nervous as it was the first time that the girls had stayed with anyone other than family, but I needn’t have worried as everything was great. They were collected on time, we had photos of them settling in with their host, and an update after their first night. When they were brought home, they were happy and content, and the host had enjoyed having them. We had photos of their holiday, and a postcard from them. Fabulous service from Becci at Barking Mad Dog Care. Completed an in depth questionnaire all about our Cockerpoo, Holly, so the host family knew everything they needed to know about her. I have been extremely happy with the service provided, especially the thoughtfulness that goes into matching the right dog to the right host. My dog Mollie is very sensitive and had to adapt to moving home and then being boarded almost straight after. Wonderful holiday for our pup at Christmas. Colette is excellent at matching our dog with the right family. We were able to enjoy our Christmas away from home knowing our girl was in safe hands and was enjoying her time with her host family. We went away at Christmas, long story ,but couldn't take our dog with us so it was all a bit last minute but jacquie got us fixed up with a family and Sid (the dog) had a great time and we had peace of mind can highly recommend excellent service from picking up to dropping off would definitely use again!!

Having only left my geriatric dog with only friends or family it was with trepidation that I had to find alternative care so that we could go on holiday. Barking Mad was recommended by a friend . I looked on the website, found it very informative and contacted the office .Carrie visited to discuss Ti’s needs and to meet him . She was very thorough and noted every detail producing a care plan and medical details .Carrie had the perfect match for Ti . Myself & my daughter have only been a host family for a few months & it has been life changing for us. When I lost my dog, I didn't have the strength to get another one. Sophie was terrified of most dogs & we had spoke for months before making the decision to become a host family. I sent a message to Sam & within a few days, she came out & we had a good chat whilst filling out the forms & Sam asked all the right questions about us & our suitability & carried out all the checks to a high standard. We have hosted 3 pets up to now. The one thing that worried me was that you don't meet the host. However Caroline provided so much information including photos of the host, house and garden that there was really nothing else that a needed to know. I was kept updated with information and photos over the three trial days and neither Quita nor I could have been happier with the whole experience.Worth every penny and will definitely be using Barking Mad regularly.
