Describe your creative process.
Typically I would ask for some initial thoughts and ideas of how the customer wants the specific design to look (maybe a quick sketch or a few words describing the look they want). I would ask if they have any ideas of colour or mood and also whether they have any particular designs from other business etc that they like that elements could be borrowed from.
Using this information I would typically come up with a couple of designs and share these to get some feedback before any potential changes then come up with a finalised design or two. It is important the customer is involved in how they want the designs to look and feel.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Colours, text, fonts, photos, general ideas (if these are available).
An idea of price and where the design is likely to be used is useful aswell.
With regard to engineering type designs more consultation would probably be required via email or phone.
What do you love most about your job?
The creativity of coming up with a new design is what inspires me. I enjoy the more artistic side of graphic design so having something bespoke sometimes is more enjoyable in the process.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I would say it was mainly my enjoyment of graphic design / art that led me to want to start doing this more again.
I have spent 20 years working mainly for large companies with engineering design and doing this is something that I feel is a good move for me in future.
Why should our clients choose you?
I would like to think I am friendly, hardworking and always flexible to customer requirements. I take pride in making your graphic design needs work for you and show your business off in the best light.
