NOTE: Our company is based in Toronto, and we only offer in-home lessons for this city, but on-line classes are available nationwide. Please contact us for more details. Thank you! Music matters. It can be a vital factor in developing a young person’s cognitive development and self-esteem, and encourages a sense of play and expression that is often lacking in our increasingly structured world.

Hello! My name is Ms Nefeli. I'm a certified Online Music Teacher with over 25 years teaching experience, a BA in Psychology and a special interest in music and how we learn. I LOVE working with neurodivergent students, students with disabilities, and adults that have always wondered if they could play piano (You can! I promise!). I don't believe there is one method for each student. If you love composing, we will start there. If you have a specific song you love, I will teach you (even if it seems hard, I can simplify it for you). For piano lessons for kids age 4 - 18, Please check out my classes on Outschool and enjoy $20 off your first class https://outschool.com/classes/meet-and-greet-for-private-neurodiversity-affirming-piano-lessons-x2JVYqgM?sectionUid=f3029737-9019-465f-818d-f8b4baf40219&usid=ZbLGGmqK&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link For adult lessons message me through my website to set up a lesson (I will not see any messages on Bark) https://nefeliteaching.ca/contact-us Or Connect with me on instagram at instagram.com/neurodivergent.piano.teacher Looking forward to hearing from you!!
I love connecting with my students, learning about each person as an individual, and seeing them grow. My goal is to increase each student's confidence and show them that they are capable. I love teaching kids about grit and growth mindset and I love when my students tell me that they applied what they learned in piano to other aspects of their life! I love teaching adults as well, especially because many adults are unsure about their talents or had bad experiences in piano lessons growing up. I like showing adults that they are musical and giving them the opportunity to use piano lessons as a way of their own personal growth.
For many years I taught only part-time while holding other full time jobs. When I had my first child 8 years ago, I really reflected on what I wanted to do in life, and the only thing that kept coming up was teaching. So I decided let go of the 9-5 and just put all my efforts into creating my music studio. It's been so rewarding and I'm so glad I took the plunge.
I am a strength based, relationship first teacher. My main goal is connecting with each student and finding out how best they learn and utilizing that to guide our lessons. I like to incorporate student's special interests and make sure they are learning pieces that are relevant for them. If you have a child that loves Disney, we will do Disney pieces. If they have trouble reading music, I will teach them by ear. I provide many different options of theory (written or online games), assignment sheets (very detailed task lists or just a sticky note in your book). You get to choose what works for you.
Yes! All lessons are online only. All students require a piano and a laptop or computer with a webcam. The webcam should be positioned on the side so that the teacher can see full upper body, head, and piano keys. The teacher has 2 camera views so that students can see both side view and overhead view of piano keys.
We went online!!! And I loved it so much, I've not only stayed online, but have taken courses and upgraded my equipment to make sure that online is the best experience it can be.
