What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

Lighting and emotion.
Cameras are really just a way of capturing light. That's entirely how they work. And it's understanding that lighting that can make an image outstanding.
Also emotion - if the final image doesn't make you feel anything, what's the point? It doesn't always have to be an awe inspired emotion - but it needs to make you feel SOMETHING.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

Where will these images be shown? Because ever session is designed around you - I make sure to scout locations that compliment the tone, emotion, lighting, or even colors of where the end product is going.
Headshots on your resume might be clean and neutral - but a seniors photo will be packed with character and dynamic lighting. Weddings - I ask what the colour theme is for your wedding so that there is a cohesive feel to your images.

What do you love most about your job?

When you capture an image and it makes my heart flutter!

What inspired you to start your own business?

The need for taking photos of different things then just my own family. It's really a passion, but strangers don't like it when you take their picture - but clients do!

Why should our clients choose you?

My personal style resonates with you. There is world class photographers that I look up to greatly - but I don't ever want to emulate their style.
I have also found that with photographers I've worked with before - they experience isn't FUN. The pictures might be okay - but the experience was rushed and impersonal. I don't like that either.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Retouching and restoration services yes. Photography and Videography only if the client isn't the subject of the content.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I try to be respectful of everyone's comfort levels at all times. Very little has changed as my approach is most often 6ft or more away from my subject, Delivery is digital, and most shoots are outdoors or at a clients home.
Wellness checks are always confirmed before entering a clients home - and sessions can be rescheduled due to illness without penalty.
