I recently joined SSR Security. I had my interview at their Burnaby office for a position of concierge security in Downtown Vancouver. I have worked for so many security companies but it has been the best experience with them. They really care for their employees unlike many other security companies unfortunately. Their direct deposit, checking in with OC are all so much easier then other companies in which employees have to go to their company office to pick up monthly pay-cheques and calling in every hour to the rude annoyed staff sitting behind desks. Very knowledgeable security guards. Probably the only company that trains their security guys on laws, rules and regulations on public photography. Last Saturday I was with my girl friend in down-town Vancouver and I was vlogging while standing on a public side-walk. When a security guard (not from this company) from a building came outside aggressively and started telling me that I can not take a picture or video of their building entrance and that I was blocking the entrance. Not sure if some one who was going inside had complained to him or not. I don’t know if he was working somewhere near by but Matt from your security company also showed up and he told the other security guard from some other company that I had every right to be there and film whatever I want because I was in a public place. Even though I had no intention of filming people coming in or out, nor was I filming the public, I was minding my own business with my girlfriend. This review is long overdue but needs to be out there. The gist of it all is that these guys do an amazing job with great customer service you deserve. I worked with Darrell and his team for one our events and the whole process was enjoyable.I first contacted ssr security back in early December 2018. They quickly referred me to their team-mate Darrell who is also an events supervisor. Throughout this whole month process Darrell was very enthusiastic and patient. They made sure I knew what I was walking into by covering all aspects for the events. Their whole security team was very professional and super friendly to all our guests and customers.Overall I highly recommend SSR Security, especially Darrell. Excellent and knowledgeable owner and staff. Great coordination with the security team to ensure proper protocols are followed. Security gaurds were needed on emergency basis and SSR team was able to deliver and arrange it in a very small time frame during the Christmas Holidays. To the security person who helped me change my flat tire on highway 1 this Friday around 4pm. Personally, I have not dealt with any kind of private security before but kudos to that employee from your company who was in full uniform and his company truck and pulled behind me to help me with changing my flat tire. I did get his name but I completely forgot to write it down. This is probably the easiest way to reach out to you and I really appreciate for all the help you provided. We really had a problem about the homeless people around our store because of where we are located. Almost every second week we had to call police for some person shoplifting or someone grabbing something from our store and running out from the entrance. I'm not sure his full name but he was one of the senior security consultant who suggested us to make the entrance and exit just one way and had their loss prevention present on the exit and since then we have had very little problem with the shoplifting issues we had for ages. They not only just contracted their loss prevention officers but also suggested ways to improve the situation. Highly recommend these guys. More...

SSR Security did an amazing job and helped us through a security nightmare. We had our building garage door stuck and last night we had some homeless people doing drugs and sleeping on the fire exit stairs so we called SSR Security until this gets resolved. I would especially like to thank Camille in the Accounts at the head office. I had and error in my payroll and the payroll did not have the hours for the last two days of the week I worked. Camille was really helpful as I had to pay my rent the other day and she went out of the way an worked on it and called me back within 20 mins that there was indeed an error. It is an amazing company to work for they really care about the guards as well as they work well with my availability. The atmosphere is so healthy, cooperative, and positive. It's unique and best, the way it is. The best part about their company is that you can walk into the office at any time of the day and go talk to the CEO at any time of the day without any hesitation. Because of how they work, the clients also take great care of SSR employees. I usually work with their event security department and I was working with SSR for a private high end event at Fairmont down town and the owner came and took all of the security guards for dinner to a very expensive restaurant after the event. Even though a dinner doesn't really mean much but coming from the owner just shows how much they care for their people and treat them like human and that is the only reason why they have such good staff stick with them. Someone double parked in one of the alleys on Alberni in downtown and one of the ssr guards working for another building went store to store to find the person who had double parked and blocked my car, even though it was an alley parking and was not really part of his job.
