Our 8 year old daughter, C has been enrolled completely on-line with Nefeli Teaching Piano for the last 2 school years. At first, we were unsure how effective lessons would be in this type of format. We were amazed at how quickly C’s piano skill and confidence grew each week. Gone are the days of snobby, stuck-up, and fear of traditional piano teachers that we experienced as children. Nefeli builds learner confidence through personalized curriculum, adjusting to varied learning styles and student needs and interests – she always fosters a safe space for learning, while continuing to challenge and encourage the learner in new areas. Her use of modern technology, media, software, individual and group sessions, have really made C’s piano journey fun and exciting. Nefeli has created several practice challenges throughout the year to develop discipline and motivation to ensure C is practicing consistently each week. C is always excited for her lessons! Nefeli is always open to feedback and she is always looking for new and innovative ways to grow and engage her students. We can’t wait for year 3 this upcoming September! 🥰 More...

Nefeli is a great teacher. She is very organize. She creates a lesson plan tailored to my daughter's needs. She makes learning easy by utilizing the use of technology and making it fun at the same time. She creates a checklist for the week, which is easily accessible and printable by myself and my daughter. My daughter can't wait for next season. More...

Q&As

I love connecting with my students, learning about each person as an individual, and seeing them grow. My goal is to increase each student's confidence and show them that they are capable. I love teaching kids about grit and growth mindset and I love when my students tell me that they applied what they learned in piano to other aspects of their life! I love teaching adults as well, especially because many adults are unsure about their talents or had bad experiences in piano lessons growing up. I like showing adults that they are musical and giving them the opportunity to use piano lessons as a way of their own personal growth.

For many years I taught only part-time while holding other full time jobs. When I had my first child 8 years ago, I really reflected on what I wanted to do in life, and the only thing that kept coming up was teaching. So I decided let go of the 9-5 and just put all my efforts into creating my music studio. It's been so rewarding and I'm so glad I took the plunge.

I am a strength based, relationship first teacher. My main goal is connecting with each student and finding out how best they learn and utilizing that to guide our lessons. I like to incorporate student's special interests and make sure they are learning pieces that are relevant for them. If you have a child that loves Disney, we will do Disney pieces. If they have trouble reading music, I will teach them by ear. I provide many different options of theory (written or online games), assignment sheets (very detailed task lists or just a sticky note in your book). You get to choose what works for you.

Yes! All lessons are online only. All students require a piano and a laptop or computer with a webcam. The webcam should be positioned on the side so that the teacher can see full upper body, head, and piano keys. The teacher has 2 camera views so that students can see both side view and overhead view of piano keys.

We went online!!! And I loved it so much, I've not only stayed online, but have taken courses and upgraded my equipment to make sure that online is the best experience it can be.
