Janet and her team staged our house for sale a fortnight ago. The decor was all really neutral, classy and lovely - without being too fussy. Because we are a family with kids she was flexible in leaving certain items of furniture etc in place, and our kids ended up loving a few of the pieces in their rooms! I started working with Janet & her team several years ago. Since then, she has provided amazing advice to all my clients on how to maximize the appeal & value of their homes when selling. We don't always get a lot of notice, but Janet is very accommodating and can always fit us in for a consultation. Designs with Heart has a very large inventory of accessories & furniture and can accessorize or stage multiple homes. Fantastic job from Janet and her team ! From the initial consultation to the take down, Janet made the process as smooth and stress free as possible. She was able to use her magic to make our older home look so fresh and modern! Her staging pieces are all classy, spotless and in excellent condition. An added bonus was that she was able to use some of our own pieces of furniture so we didn't have to move them :) The final result was beyond expectation and the reviews of our home were all so positive.

I can't say enough good things about Janet, Kori and the rest of the team! Not only did they stage my house so it looked straight out of a magazine, they really came together in the final moments and helped me get ready for the pictures! I was running way behind all by my self trying to get my place ready. Janet offered to stop by before the pictures were taken. We were very happy with the professional staging provided by Janet Lord at Designs With Heart. My mother needed to sell her home and I am certain that the staging created tremendous interest that resulted in multiple offers and a great selling price! Janet and her team are knowledgeable and efficient. They created an ambiance that highlighted the best features of the house, while providing a canvas for excellent and artistic photos, video and 3-D tour. One outstanding example of this was a well placed framed mirror and novelty bench that were photographed to reflect and emphasize the dramatic spiral staircase that winds its way up to an open vaulted ceiling in the heart of the home. Janet's recommendations for the painting of certain areas were very effective, once completed. The entire house then had a light, neutral appearance that coordinated beautifully with the staging furniture and photographed extremely well! Prior to selling our 32 yr. old home, we enlisted a wonderful real estate agent, Susan Lougheed, with ROYAL LePAGE Meadowtowne Realty. After touring our home, she gently suggested staging our home would most likely get more showings and sell for more money. My husband was not too keen about this staging thing, as he didn’t really understand it or think it would make a difference. Susan set up a consultation for us with Janet Lord, from DESIGNS WITH HEART. Janet advised us on what she thought would make our old, tired, cluttered looking home into a beautiful, stunning home we were proud to show. We hired Janet to stage our home, and followed her advice. The transformation that took place after she staged it was amazing!! The real estate video & photos of our home attracted over 40 showings! The real estate market has changed from the last time we bought our house 35 years ago. We are at a loss what to do to prepare the sale of our house. Janet came to our house and made a list of what we need to do room by room. This down to the details of light fixture, curtain, carpet, paint colour and removal of furniture / items off the counter. We worked room by room (love the list) and got it all done in a week with the help from a contractor, painter and family members.

Janet came in and stage the house in less than an hour. The house look amazing and we had over 27 showings in 2 weeks. It look so good that my husband want to put an offer in :).

Once the house was sold Janet and her team came back to pick up the items. The process was again less than an hour. This is a 4 bedroom house and they brought it a lot of stuff to make it marketable.

We (three siblings) put the family home on the market this May after our father passed away last year to join our mother. We resisted the idea of hiring a stager but Janet came highly recommended and we were so glad that we met with her and decided to use her services . We followed her advice and she transformed what had been a very personal, sentimental and cluttered home into a house decorated for contemporary tastes. The listing agent was able to use Janet's work to help create a huge amount of interest in the property (over 70 showings!) which in the end sold for a price that was well over asking.
