I just had my second baby and wasn’t going to do maternity or newborn pics but my gf had them done by Chanel and they looked so good and were such a reasonable price so I reached out there her. First of all she is so sweet, and since she has kids of her own she was so good and so patient trying to photograph our toddler who didn’t always want to cooperate. My fiancé and I lucked out and got a last minute spot for a Christmas shoot with Chanel at Gogo’s tree farm. Everything was set up so beautifully and we were impressed with how many photos we got for a 20 minute mini session. Neither of us had done a photo session before and felt a little awkward at first, but she did a great job making us look and feel relaxed (and she even got a bunch of stellar shots of our usually very nervous pup). What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I believe its a lot to do with knowing your subject. For me, that entails getting to know my clients and how they interact together, their relationship and dynamic. I pick up on their energy and direct them into connecting and loving on each other to create the intimate, playful, and connected photos of them as they truly are.
