About

I am a registered social worker (RSW) who has been providing psychotherapy to individuals for over 15 years. I consider it an absolute privilege every single time someone welcomes me to share in their therapeutic process. My intention is to bring authenticity, empathy and non-judgemental guidance to the room.

Q&As

I am honoured to support people during their most vulnerable times.

I have been working in private practice for 12 years. I have recently moved to Hamilton, Ontario and am excited to begin working within the community I call home.

Therapy is a very personal experience, so I try to enter the therapeutic relationship as a 'clean slate', free of judgement or any agenda other than working towards what my clients want and need in their healing. In my therapeutic work, I collaborate with clients to formulate an approach that best fit their needs. I acknowledge that everyone has their own unique experiences and set of challenges, that there is not a one- size-fits-all approach when it comes to a client's unique therapeutic process. In my work, I draw from evidence-based practices that include cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness practice, trauma informed practice including dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I work with people struggling with anxiety and panic disorders, low mood, relationship struggles, grief and loss, trauma and more.

I work out of Hamilton, Ontario but also remotely so that I am able to support anyone in Canada if requested. I am providing in person appointments in Hamilton.

Services

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a focused approach to treating trauma and other mental health concerns by reconnecting the person in a safe and measured way to the images, thoughts, emotions, and physiological body sensations associated with the trauma, and allowing the natural healing powers of the brain to move toward an adaptive resolution.

I offer a 15 minute phone or video consultation for anyone new who wants to ask me any questions or get a 'feel' for what the therapeutic process may look like. It can also be an opportunity for you to tell me a little bit about yourself, the reasons why you are seeking support, and what some of your goals for therapy may be.
