Wonderful, caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable staff! Very sorry to hear about the experience of the original poster, but I know that this sentiment and behaviour are not at all reflective of the entire staff. The outpouring of positive reviews clearly indicate this. To think that one person’s mistake is a reflection of the entire hospital is ludicrous. To condemn an entire clinic of fantastic staff who truly care about their patients and clients because of one individual is shameful. Our dog is highly reactive to people and other dogs. With the Covid policies in place, involving trunk "delivery" of our dog (Harvey) we were very nervous. But the vet tech took such good care of him, and said he had positive interactions with her, so she stayed and cuddled him after the procedure to really reinforce that positive connection. Thank you so much for caring for our dog when we couldn't be beside him, and for lessening the stress for him, as well as to help all of us in training him to know humans are good and safe. More...

I’ve been taking both my dogs here for several years. It began with an emergency with my pug Molly, Dr Laura, Dr Taylor and Dr Fuller saved her life. (We were turned away from Burnside) After this, we actually switched to go here full time. Since then I’ve only had great experiences with all the staff. Very disappointing to see one bad experience (yes it was bad) causing all these negative reviews. Dr Brittni Milligan is the most compassionate vet I have ever met. She always takes extra time with my dog and goes out of her way to help him feel comfortable with her. I 100% trust her with my dog’s life and know that whatever she recommends is in his best interest. Her unconditional love for all animals shines through her work and her dedication to her patients. We are so sorry you had that experience I would have been upset as well. Our experience at 4 Paws was completely different as the front desk staff and vet were amazing. Our dog accidentally drank antifreeze out of a cottage toilet in wentworth and we immediately rushed towards Halifax . On the drive we called Metro and they told us to call I poison control # in the US which wanted $100 us funds to speak to us unfortunately we did not have a credit card with us so not able to get any advice. So we called 4 Paws for advise and they said to bring her in immediately. When we got there they were ready for us and had researched the antifreeze in question and reassured us she was going to be ok... we can not thank them enough as they are not even our regular vets. Please practice what you preach and show the staff at 4 Paws the same compassion you want for your pets. We’ve all said things in a moment of frustration that we assumed no one would ever hear. I’d highly encourage you to look up the term “compassion fatigue in vet medicine” before writing a negative review based on someone else’s experience. We have received the most compassionate care from Dr. Brittni for our fur babies. Our dog, Dozer, was diagnosed with Lyme disease at a very young age and she gives him all the attention and care he needs to cope with his diagnosis. I have had nothing but extraordinary treatment from 4Paws. They go well above and beyond for the care of not only my companions but our family as well. I can always count on them to answer my questions, even if I am in panic mode as well as follow up on routine issues. I have been to 4 Paws many times for weekend and middle of the night visits. They have always been very helpful and patient while taking my countless calls in the middle of the night. Even when my dog was in for surgery and I was impatient with them about how long it was taking, the staff were still polite and kind to me. They have helped me with multiple pets over the years and have been great with all of them - even my cranky old minpin that tries to bite everyone. All of the vets I have seen have been knowledgeable and kind. I also appreciate that they don't charge extra for off-hours visits. Those visits are already stressful enough, so it's nice not getting hit with extra charges. More...

I was out of the country when my dog was hurt and rushed to 4 Paws by my pet sitter. The staff at 4 Paws treated my little guy as if he was their own until I was able to return to the country over a week later. They put him on the road to recovery and saved his life. One of the vets even drove him to physical therapy appointments and sent me daily videos so I could see his progress. I think the staff at 4 Paws is truly caring, and will quite obviously go above and beyond to help a sick or hurt animal — as well as their humans! More...

Thank you so so much for helping my cat today. Woke up and discovered she somehow got into the closet and ended up with a three prong mackerel lure embedded in her fur and skin. During this pandemic you're still out there helping people in need and I couldn't be more appreciative. Staff were incredible, service was great and the price is hard to beat. Overall experience was amazing - considering the circumstances. And Mama is starting to come around, a little groggy from everything but she'll be just fine. 4 paws literally saved my dogs life ! they were so accommodating. especially with coronavirus. they took all the precautions. they gave us an estimate, which turned out to be less then what what was their lowest estimate !. they literally saved my dogs life and I am forever grateful for them. I called them so many times to check up on certain things and they were amazing the entire time . I believe I spoke to Morgan and Kaitlin the most . ( although I'm sure many more) they were extremely polite and answered all of my questions. the veternarians, technicians, assistant, are amazing and I couldn't ask for a better team to assist my dog in a crisis like she was having . thank you all for your amazing assistance ! After our vet closed down, we followed Lesley the co-ordinator of the clinic to 4Paws. Best decision ever! She is great, but so are the vets and staff, especially Courtney! My dog jumped on our counter and ate several cookies made with cocoa powder. I took him in to 4 paws and the staff here is amazing. They were able to induce vomiting and took the best possible care of him. I was so afraid that he wouldn't be able to survive after ingesting so much cocoa. The staff asked important questions and took the best possible care of him. I am so incredibly grateful that this clinic is exists. They sent us home with instructions and proper after care. When I got home I had to call and they were so prompt to answer and give sound advice. More than 24 hours later my dog is his normal happy self. 5 stars ⭐️ - Unbelievable experience I had here these past 24 hours !!! Brought one of my cats newborn kittens in Friday night as he was turning colour, struggling to breath, and not latching on to mom ! Without hesitation they took him in right away and although believing he would not survive the night due to his lack of oxygen, temperature and lack of eating the vets still did everything in their power to save this little guy !! One of the staff even took him home once her shift ended to ensure he got round the clock care !!! He is now perfectly fine and healthy, and has been reintroduced to mom and latched instantly !! I’m so over the moon that not only did these guys save my kitty but they even had the heart to only charge examination fee and let me take my baby home ♥️ so, so, so grateful ! We had to take our precious Harley in to the Hospital for surgery. Everything went well. Our Vet Dr Kip called me post surgery with the good news. We will be able to bring our beautiful girl home tonight. That’s amazing. The other good thing about this clinic was that we took Harley in on Monday without an appointment but they got her in for assessment the same day. When it was determined that surgery was required, it was a mere two days after. That was a huge thing for us. No one likes to see their babies in pain!
