What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I like to chat with my clients before the shoot so that I am getting exactly what they want in their images. When I do my 'Lifestyle Library' shoots ( A 3 hour shoot with 100 fine finished images ) , we have a brainstorming session to come up with great ideas for images , locations, props etc first so that I can come up with a Unique shot list that is All About You and your Business.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Finding out your colour palette for your business , or if it is a family group on location .. colour schemes for outfits .
Do you need any particular shaped images for your end uses .. long narrow horizontal banner image for example
Does your business use a particular catch phrase that we can capture in an image for you
Do you need any 'celebration images' to help you 'announce' anything special in business
What do you love most about your job?
I love the variety of what I do . I can definitely call myself an All Rounder photographer .. having shot Fashion for magazines like Vogue Australia , having photographed personalities like Richard Branson , having photographed amazing Gala Balls and Awards nights , having shot products for Sotheby's in London , having spent a few years as a Press photographer where you have to capture the moment & having photographed amazing faces and wonderful families on the Gold Coast .
What inspired you to start your own business?
After spending my first 5 working years working and training with Sydney based studios , I took the brave step of starting my own studio and now have been happily self-employed for over 30 years. Photography has always been my passion .
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients choose me for my wealth of experience and for my ability to put people at ease .. some clients arrive at the studio nervous and say 'I hate having my photo taken ' & leave relaxed and happy saying ' well that was fun & I love my new photos'
