Executive MBA (leadership and marketing) from Rutgers School of Business (2006) and a diploma in business of medical administration at the Johns Hopkins School of Business (2000).

Research was funded by National Institutes of Health (NIH) & Higher Education Councils. Research include development of bioactive hybrid peptides & receptor research, and development of new, cost-effective agents for metabolic bone disease.

Key contributions to medical research included the development of once weekly bisphosphonate therapy, combination therapies for osteoporosis, method to enhance the efficacy of bisphosphonates, and cost-effective therapies such as vitamin E & nitric oxide donor for prevention & treatment of osteoporosis.

Developing a novel "Nature Center;" a residential facility of 20+ acres in a remote serine area in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. This model site will have nature friendly design and architecture to go with the surroundings. The Center will function as a model for sustainability (solar powered, organic gardening/farming, arboretum, locally generated safe potable water, total recycling of waste, etc.).

This unique multipurpose center encompasses several areas; including (A) local and foreign students and teachers to experience nature, peace, and learn various aspects of their academic & social interests, continuing studies and sustainability research and obtaining university/college credits through this experience and/or credit for compassionate social service, (B) learn and practice meditation (non-religious meditation retreat center with volunteer meditation teachers) relevant to their lives, and facilitate development of mindfulness in day-to-day activities and encouraging mindful families; and (C) facility to contribute to the society in various manner as described in the foundation's mission [].

Center also will develop and fabricate new environmentally friendly purification methods for clean water and new recyclable safe sanitary facilities.

To Eradicate Chronic Kidney Disease From Sri Lanka

Foundation Preventive Health, Environmental Protection, & Research Organization ( is an international coalition with the mission to eradicate chronic kidney disease of multi-factorial origin (CKD-mfo, CKDu) from Sri Lanka. The steering committee consists of concerned diverse expertise.
Human interventions such as land settlement, deforestation, and overuse of agrochemicals, the ecosystems are under unprecedented pressure threatening prospects for sustainability and the welfare of today’s and future generations.
The Foundation conducting village-based region-wide awareness and educational campaigns to (A) educate the consequences of drinking contaminated water, (B) use of clean water and water conservation, & prevention of environmental pollution, & (D) using locally available organic substances & compost for cultivation & pest control, & advice on better nutrition.
Securing the environment is essential for the prosperity. The PHEPRO organization provides clean water & the protection of environment & living beings. PHEPRO will focus on the six sub-projects, with the goal of reducing disease incidence and eventual eliminating CKD-mfo.
