Work History

Aviation Security Officer

From July 2012

My job role as an Aviation Security officer requires me to search passengers, search passengers belongings and also x-ray any personal items that will be entering the critical part of the airport.I interect with members of the public on a day to day basis I enjoy this as it gives me the chance to meet new people and also calm people who are perhaps have a fear of flying or have never flown before.Although most people are complant to either being searched or having their belongings searched some are not and I am able to explain and eventually they comply with procedure.

Personal Statement:
I am a hard working person and have taken part in many team building exercises. I participated in the World Skills Team Challenge and also have attended a training week with the Royal Air Force, where I completed rock climbing, abseiling and mountaineering tasks. I have also taken part in overseas activities that have included camping on the snowy slopes of the Swiss mountains and white water rafting.

For a short while I was part of a sports leadership course where I taught disabled and vulnerable people how to play various kinds of sport. For this role I needed strong communication and interpersonal skills.

As part of my college course, I was able to enrol as a volunteer and assist with the organising and running of the Sutton Coldfield Police, Fire and Magistrates Open Day, which was organised to help raise awareness of the local public services in the area. This was a great experience and it helped me to develop my team working, problem solving and organisation skills.

I am familiar with working both during the day time and late into the early hours. I like being busy and am happy to work at short notice. I work well under pressure and always try to be the best I can be.

I enjoy my current work as an Aviation Security Officer

Since then I continue to enjoy my duties and the variety of work that working within the Police Force brings.

I enjoy my current work as an Aviation Security Officer. I feel it has provided me with a lot more confidence and shown me different ways of dealing with different types of people.
