Oleg has over 20 years experience and extensive skills in the fields of project management as well as oceanographic observation and model result processing, integration and analysis. Currently, Oleg leads the Centre of Excellence for Marine Oil Spill Assessments covering hydrocarbon weathering, deterministic and stochastic spill trajectory modelling and visualisation, drilling cuttings and muds modelling, sensitivity mapping and contingency planning, toxicity and risk of releases, and hydrocarbon monitoring services in the open-ocean, near-shore and coastal environments.
Oleg enjoys the challenges faced in taking on issues, identifying opportunities and then developing and growing these opportunities to successful commercially and environmentally sustainable outcomes.
Oleg has been the Project Manager for multiple research field campaigns, hydrodynamic, oil spill, discharge and dredging studies over the past years. His professional history embraces climate studies using earth system models of intermediate complexity, studies of sensitivity of wave and hydrodynamic models, wind, wave and current hindcast, prediction, data assimilation, and model validation studies.
Oleg has an entrepreneurial mind with an ability to review, identify, assess and develop products/methodologies/services from a range of industries via a strong scientific and analytical research background, solid market understanding, consultation and engagement for commercially focused outcomes. His particular interest is in ensuring that project outcomes are achieved on time and within budget.
